We came for a meal, one of us had a steak that really was a piece of steak on a plate with fries nothing else, when the bill came they added a gratuity to the bill saying to ask when paying to have removed we asked this to be told it can't be taken off, surly tips should be discretionary not expected

Rooms: Mold in my first room and cracks in the ceiling, second room was in need of some tlc and the mattress was worn and dented in the middle.
Food and drinks: Evening meal was not as expected, steak was supposed to be thin and medium to well, but was thick and medium to rare with blood leaking out and no real seasoning

Went for lunch last week, we were one of onky 3 couples in the restaurant side of the place, ordered our meals which came and were nice, not once did anyone ask if we wanted a dessert, so I waited 15 minutes to see if anyone was going to ask us. By this time we were the only people in there.
I had to get up and walk round the corner where I found a young man chatting with a child about what was on his laptop, I asked him if I could order a dessert and a coffee for me.
The dessert arrived.
I had to again go and ask the young man, who was chatting away again if I could have my coffee.
He said he'd forgotten and didn't charge me for one.
Food good, service was terrible.

My husband and I stayed over on Friday 31st January in room 18. The room was small and pokey with just enough room to walk round the bed. There was cheap 3 in 1 Nescafé which we couldn?t drink. But the worst was our night?s sleep on a lumpy mattress. There was an adjoining door to the next room where ladies were chatting until after 1.30am. Of which we heard everything !!! Also there was thick dust in the window bottom. I appreciate there was scaffolding up all round to repair the roof but surely the rooms should have been checked before any guests arrived. I mentioned our poor sleep on checking out and was told it?s an old building!!!
I was born and brought up in holmfirth so I know the building well and have visited downstairs very often but never an overnight stay before.
I must point out that the staff, service and food were excellent after having an evening meal and breakfast. We expected a bit more luxury and were very disappointed after paying £160 which was not value for money.

Me and my daughter had lunch there a couple of days ago we had the two meals for £20 my daughter had sausage and mash and that's all you get no veg I had the fish and chips which was very disappointing frozen chips I think a few were still frozen they were that hard why any restaurant,pub can't do there own chips its not difficult. The fish was ok won't be going again.

Local pub, went for a friends birthday on Saturday night, bar manager very unwelcoming and at times quite rude! Service was clipped and rushed as though you were an inconvenience and the pub was not very busy! Seemed to want everyone out as quickly as possible, called time at 10pm and 15 mins later walked round telling everyone to drink up. Drinks extremely expensive. No incentive to return I?m afraid local or not.

Mulled wine drink was like draculas blood..my sister in law had one sip it was putrid !! We ordered our meals and after 40 mins D'Arcy (head man) came and asked us our order again !! Bangers and mash .pie and mash and a simple sandwich ! So in all over an hour we waited..paid bill in full and left..!!!

I needed a place that would provide a good post concert nights sleep, with a decent breakfast in the morning.
The Old Bridge Inn provided exactly that.
My room was VERY small, just enough room to walk around the bed. But the bed/linens/pillows were of a good quality.
The hospitality & service was VERY GOOD. Seemed to genuinely want to try and ensure everyone had an enjoyable time.
I do think they should extend bar hours (just an hour) for residents, especially Fri or Sat, when there is a concert at the adjacent picturedome. Closing at 11, was a little disappointing.

Stopped in for brunch on a Saturday. Eggs Benedict was pretty good and generally good service. Would I be rushing back - probably not but it?s a good option when in Holmfirth.

Great place to stay. Right in the centre of town. Lovely bar and restaurant very welcoming and cozy. Lovely food. Service from all the stall was warm and welcoming. The rooms are clean and cozy. Just a bit dated,. Overall a great place to stay.

Arrived mid afternoon to attend an event at the picturedome in the evening. Went into the bar for a drink but waited almost 20 minutes to be served(only one on the bar) understaffed! Food was ok but a tad expensive.
Our room was on the top floor, no lifts so no good for disabled people. No windows just a roof light, felt a bit like a prison cell.
Rooms: Clean but wouldnt stay there again
Food and drinks: Shockingly understaffed on the bar whilst other staff flounce about trying to look important.
