Beautiful location, lovely room with gorgeous bathroom, generous hospitality tray and comfortable bed. It was spotlessly clean and the decor made it feel really individual. The food was great, well-cooked and tasty. The friendly and helpful staff couldn't have been better - they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Would definitely recommend.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience staying at The Cross Inn. From the moment I entered the building and asked to check in, I was greeted by a very friendly guy working at the bar. He promptly gave me my key and assisted me with my bags up to my room, providing a thorough explanation of everything along the way. Despite the rural location, the Wi-Fi was impressively fast with a great connection, this was great as at work and everywhere else but The Cross Inn I couldn?t find a good connection. The room itself was spotless along with the bathroom that smelt very fresh, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a lovely set of towels, soap, and other products neatly arranged on my bed. The sheets were lovely and clean with the material being very nice, the bed itself and the sheets were exceptionally comfortable, ensuring I slept straight through like a baby throughout my stay.Additionally, there were delightful little biscuits, snacks and bottles of water available. I must mention Linda, whose name I hope I'm spelling correctly because she truly stood out as one of the nicest people I've encountered when staying somewhere in a long time. Her positive energy, warm demeanor, and overall hospitality enhanced my experience even further. The same can be said for the guy who I initially met upon arrival and the other lady working at the bar; although I didn't catch her name, her friendly and kind demeanor, along with her distinctive and awesome purple hair, left a lasting impression.I was in the area for work, and Linda graciously accommodated my early morning schedule by offering to prepare a full English breakfast before the official breakfast hours. She did not have to do this, but went out of her way to ensure I was on time and had a lovely breakfast. An offer I really appreciated, especially considering how delicious the food turned out to be. While I regret not having the opportunity to try the gorgeous Thai food that I could smell from the kitchen, I can say with certainty that if I ever find myself back in Hebden Bridge/Heptonstall, I will undoubtedly return to The Cross Inn and try everything on the menu. The heating in the room worked really well and quickly warmed up the space. Additionally I should mention that guests are provided with a key to their room and a key to the front door of the pub, which closes at 10 pm. Overall, I have nothing but good things to say for this place. Having such a lovely place to stay, coupled with the exceptional service from the staff, just made my work experience even more so enjoyable. I am truly grateful for everything the team at The Cross Inn did to ensure that I had a fantastic stay. Thank you so much I really appreciate everything that you?ve done for me un highly recommend to whom ever may be reading this to pay a visit!Jack :)

We had the honour of being the first wedding party to take place at the Cross Inn since Gig took over as the owner, and the day was exactly what we wanted - a relaxed and informal wedding in a beautiful location. The courtyard was beautifully decorated and prepared for our wedding celebrations. The food was outstanding and, alongside a large variety of Thai canapes and main dishes, included a couple of special requests from the groom - a full leg of lamb and Vimto trifles for dessert, both of which were absolute perfection. We booked out the accommodation upstairs for friends and family to stay for the weekend and Lyndsey went above and beyond to make sure that they were well looked after and provided a generous breakfast buffet. Thank you so much to Gig, Lyndsey, Jill and all the team at the Cross Inn for going above and beyond to make our day so special and memorable. Many of our friends and family have said it was the best wedding they have ever attended and we couldn't have asked for any more.Noteworthy details: A wedding venue with a difference

Lovely cosy place with nice rooms. Our room looked onto the cobbled street but was right next to the kitchen which was a bit odd. Despite this we had a lovely stay and the staff were very accommodating and friendly.

I stayed at Heptonstall whilst doing the South Pennine Cycle route. The pub looked inviting and was a busy Friday when after a long cycle I went in late for food. Helpful, friendly service and warm, cosy atmosphere. Although at first, being on my own, I felt at a loose end, I was soon made to feel at home, most particularly by the 'landlady' (off duty) with the pink hair, and it was nice to chat to a few of the locals. There was a mix up with the Thai food I'd ordered. But this was resolved, with excellent customer service, and was worth the wait. Freshly made, authentic vegetarian Thai green curry (spring roll starter was delicious too). Thank you.

After a strenuous walk up from Hebden Bridge. The cross Inn came calling. A friendly welcome from the staff, nice cold drink out in the rear beer garden.

My family came to visit me over the bank holiday weekend and I sent them to the Cross Inn for some Thai food as I really liked the flavours and the ability to ask for more spice. However, the last dish that came out last night which was the grilled squid, had a leech like worm thing in the salad which my cousin bit into and felt something move so spat it out. The server then swiftly took it upstairs to show the manager, and they gave a refund on the squid. While processing the refund, he asked if my family were tourists? my mother then said that I lived in the area. He then proceeded to ask where!!! I question the relevancy of these questions to be honest - why are you asking if people are tourists when clearly the kitchen had screwed up on washing the salads?!No one came back down to give us an answer or explanation on how the worm appeared in the food.I am truly disappointed not so much because of the worm, but how the situation was handled. Why does it matter where people are visiting from, whether in the village, or from further afar. Are we being racist here?! I have had so many great meals at the Cross but I am sad to say I won?t be returning.

For a pub in a tourist area you'd think tea and coffee would be available, especially when trad was slow.
