We were in Halifax for a 50th party and as we came a day early we decided to have a bit of wander around. Came across this place and immediately liked it. A fantastic range of beers, friendly helpful staff and pork pies. What more could you ask for. The layout of the pub is quirky, over different levels and it's dog friendly. A real gem, keep up the good work.

Probably the nicest pub in Halifax, with a lovely unique cozy atmosphere and layout, friendly and helpful staff, large selection of craft beer, plus coffee and pork pies.

Great modern bar. It has about 8 cask ales, all well kept and about a dozen or so keg beers.Nice warm place with a good atmosphere.It's also near to the theatre and is great for a pre or post performance drink.It does food in the way of pizzas etc but I can't comment on the price or quality.

What a quality pub! Extensive list of keg and cask and bottles too! Lovely staff. Brilliant selection of pork pies. And the pub itself is a gem. A great pub in a town that has been redeveloped since I was last here some 20 years ago.

My favourite craft/real ale bar in Halifax.A huge choice of craft beers, all listed on a blackboard with the brewery name and percentage.Knowledgeable friedly staff and a nice relaxed atmosphere.Great pork pies of various flavours, to go with the ale.Cheers

Great choice of beer and lovely atmosphere. Nice toilets. Can get busy and cramped so you sometimes have to push your way past in tight spaces, which with a drink is interesting!

It?s an iconic ale house of Halifax with a unique interior and substantial beer choice. If you?re on the ale trail in Halifax it?s a must. Quite often we?ll finish here for a fine array of beer.

A delicious wee pub on a quiet street full of period features and a glorious selection of ales and beers. Not a stop for any lager fans. Really impressed by the care of the staff to present well conditioned beer and was clearly popular with the locals. If I lived in Halifax, it would probably be my local. Banging.

This seems to have an accessible symbol. However the toilets are most definitely NOT accessible by anyone disabled. I certainly could not access the toilets although the barman did open a side door for us! Nice beer.

Such an unusual fusion of coffee shop and craft ales with comfy seating in in lots of small'ish areas. Beers kept well. Great pork pie and crisp choices.Definitely coming back when I return to the area.
