Had fried brie but it was done in stodgy batter that had clearly been used for fish. Coffee absolutely abyssmal 1 teaspoon per cafetiere - staff need training how to make properly. Having said that I like the Maypole, food normally good.

Our first visit in many years - it won't be so long before our next. The staff were excellent - friendly and very professional, the food was delicious ( I can recommend the beetroot tarte tartin ?). A good range of dishes, well cooked and reasonably priced. We sat outside in the beer garden - a perfect way to spend a Friday afternoon ?.

Been here tonight and all 3 of us wanted something a little different to what was in the menu we all got exactly what we asked for and it was absolutely delicious I wanted roast pork f the day no veg just chips and gravy and Yorkshire pudding and that?s exactly what I received my hubby wanted no broccoli and my friend no olives everything came perfect as we asked for thoroughly enjoyed it all thank you

I've dropped in here a couple of times now and received a warm welcome. Saturday gave the option of sitting in the beer garden. It's a lovely spot. I'll be back and next time I might try the food. It looked delicious.

Too many overheads, non profitable without better preparation for key shifts ( helicoptering) locals for 3 hr shifts Owners go in with debt. Halifax clientele are obtuse, would rather eat at Wetherspoons to save £20 . New layout needed, advertise where wet + dry products comes from and show at bottom of menu- ?Support your local pub become a member for free?
Remember people like something for nothing- you got all info. Also do live music and hog roasts etc for summertime. Cash is king when VAT is coming! It?s a Goldmine but don?t talk to regulars personal stuff about yourself. Best of luck to you- you still going in 3 years-I?ll hope you have a plan to sell then- that?s the peak! we went for a family meal yesterday 15 people, staff were attentive, considerate and friendly, in addition the owner was present, constantly checking in, he made time to chat and engage with us all, honestly nothing was too much trouble.
the food was as usual PERFECT !! if you get the opportunity to visit you won't be disappointed

just had lunch here, the actual pub is welcoming and clean, the staff are friendly and the food is delicious, I had the battered squid as a stater cooked perfectly and the baby fish & chips, the fish was massive everything was beautifully presented and delicious will be visiting again.
