I was hoping to try out the Christmas Dinner at 'The Gate Cafe Bar and Deli on Sunday 1st December late afternoon, but upon arrival there was a lengthy queue to order. I asked a member of staff if the upstairs section was open and advised it was closed. The ground floor sections was full. I decided to go elsewhere.

Food was alright. Nice atmosphere.
What put me off was the fact that I first received my coffee, a while later my main and after finishing my main I had to go ask for my desert I ordered, by the time I got my desert my coffee was lukewarm

Incredible staff with top customer service! We went on an evening for burgers and drinks after being massively let down by La Luna. We found the customer service second to none. All the staff are lovely and friendly and can?t do enough for you. They are clearly fantastic at their job and could run a busy sitting with no problems whatsoever. This is a relaxed and casual dining experience, with food reasonably priced. We will definitely be back for pre-concert nibbles and drinks!

My friend and I had an Afternoon Tea yesterday. We really enjoyed it; the bread was tasty and the sandwiches certainly had plenty of filling and were all delicious. The staff are always very accommodating, friendly and helpful...nothing too much trouble. We sat chatting for ages with no need or desire to rush elsewhere. Highly recpmmended.

Called for lunch on a busy Saturday afternoon. We hadn?t booked but there was a choice of tables, just in time though as it soon filled up. Our first visit but clearly it?s very popular. There?s an extensive menu and I opted for halloumi in chiabatta bread and my daughter chose a jacket potato with tuna and cheese. We were both impressed with the taste and size of our portions. We were too full to try a cake, but maybe next time. The staff are friendly and efficient despite it being very busy. Will definitely visit again.

Popped in with family at short notice and needed a table for 5 people , absolutely no problem and very accommodating.Staff were amazing and food was truly delicious. Meals included a variety of pies, sandwiches and vegan food, everyone said the same how lovely the meals were.Will definitely go back and highly recommend.

Came today for breakfast and a coffee with my friend.
I had the vegi breakfast and asked for no mushrooms. Was offered an alternative for mushrooms which was nice.
My friend got the small normal breakfast and again asked for no tomato?s and was also offered an alternative.
The food was absolutely beautiful and the service was 100%. The staff are amazing and so friendly and quick.
Food arrived quickly and was lovely a hot.
Ordered x2 iced lattes with hazelnut syrup. They were amazing. Not just loads of ice and hardly any drink. They were huge and great value for money.
£28 for both of us which was amazing. Would defo come back for more.

Stylish interior and a brilliant menu. Staff who served us seemed nice as well. Average prices I would say. It was really pleasing to see so many vegetarian and vegan food options on the menu as well. The cakes we had were superb and they sell some very different drinks as well. Would have given them a 5 star rating but it was very smoky and smog filled inside due to all of the cooking and grilling going on. Better ventilation and extraction is needed to improve the air quality because sometimes it got to the back of your throat and it stifled the atmosphere. If they sort this out then it will be 5/5 all day long.Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian and vegan options on the menu, quite a decent range, nice to see.Parking: Busy Town Centre location in a pedestrianised area so you can only walk to the cafe, it doesn't have it's own car park.

Went with my friend today for the Christmas menu. It was a brilliant experience from start to finish. The food was amazing. The table had been set for us with crackers & festive table wear. The staff kept checking on us making sure we had everything we needed & we weren?t rushed at all it was a lovely afternoon. Me & my friend also noted how lovely the staff were & how happy they all seemed. Will definitely be back again soon & recommending you to family & friends.
