Our visit was 5.4.25
Myself & husband booked for a back massage 1.30pm.
We were taken into separate rooms .
The beauty bed had no face opening.
Told no slippers , as waiting for delivery of them .
Massage was ok , but not a full 25 minutes.
On to the pool area inside , very grubby & poorly lit .
Attendant mopping around pool had dirty outdoor trainers on.
We could feel grit on the floor & around the indoor hot tub .
Apparently a wall had been removed , so we suspected this was rubble from works done.
Outdoor smoking seems to be allowed near the outdoor jacuzzi, which I feel is not acceptable.
We wernt shown around & not given a welcome greeting in the spa reception.
There are no hooks for a towel in the female shower rooms .
No plastic bag for wet swimwear.
Lockers difficult to use & lots broken.
No wringer for wet swim wear .
No spare towels available.
We left our concerns with the newly appointed manager , who said will contact me .
Our session cost £168.00 which is extortionate for the standard of the the spa .
I doubt I would return again , unless things are seriously upgraded to warrant the price .

Had a chilled out afternoon in the spa today.
The pool is chilly and the steam room wasn't very steamy.
The staff were very friendly and the food was tasty.
The location is so beautiful and relaxing - just turn up the thermostat please ?

We were booked in for Sunday Lunch the 23 March 2025 .Waited ages to be seated or even acknowledged 20 mins stood there .Finally offered a seat after voucher shown ,no room in the waterside part of the restaurant but that wasn't a problem as I needed to sit down as I'm disabled .Finally sat down was asked about drinks and our choice of meal ..waited another 30 mins for our drinks ,numerous staff stood about then rushing like mad .Kept asking what we wanted to drink and eat no organisation whatsoever one young man only been there a week polite enough but couldn't answer simple requests .We did get our drinks in the end but our meal took ages ,again kept being asked what meat we wanted polite staff but weird going on .We did in the end get our meal it was luke warm yuk .I had to ask what looked liked savoury rice pud it was cauliflower mush ..in contrast we could not even chew the cabbage or the one carrot it tasted disgusting .I cannot believe a hotel of such calibre couldn't serve a decent Sunday Lunch ...what a disappointment it wasn't as if the veg was blanced boil it was hard as rock and the cauliflower was mush .Potatoes hard but the mash was ok .I feel awful I have had to say to my son and daughter in law that the wonderful gift voucher as an Xmas gift was terrible I felt ungrateful but had to make them aware as we don't want another thankyou ..terrible never again ! Others were having difficulty with chewing the veg too very disappointed ??????my husband wouldn't complain as we didn't want a replacement meal incase it was tampered with so we left hungry and let down

Had an overnight stay with evening meal & breakfast bought as a Christmas pressie by our 2 eldest children and their other halves, so really looked forward to the down time.
On arrival our first impressions were that it looked really nice with the woodland setting & log cabins. However, on entering our cabin we were somewhat underwhelmed as it looked & felt tired and dated. That being said, a good selection of teas & coffees with the obligatory catering packets of biscuits.and bottle of fizz in fridge as part of the offer.
We were also disappointed to see that unless we were prepared to pay, the times we were able to use the spa were limited to 7 till 10am in the mornings & 8 till 9pm in the evening.
As for the bar, service was poor and the pricing can only be described as extortionate at £15.50 for 2 drinks (Guinness & G&T!)
The restaurant was ok and the food to a good standard. However, when looking forward to ordering a nice steak, we were advised they?d ran out along with Bailey?s, slim line tonic & sausages, which we found incredibly poor. My wife also asked for some Parmesan to go with her linguine and we were advised by the waiter ?the chef has told me to charge you a £1 for this as it?s so expensive? again we found very poor!
Overall a nice enjoyable break away but not a destination we?d be looking to return to anytime soon!
Food and drinks: Expensive

Dirty restaurant with limited menu. Only one cubicle within the whole spa to get changed. Jacuzzi was cold, 3 hot tubs didn't work and the steam room wasn't steamy. Very disappointed. Would never go again.
Food and drinks: Limited menu, took long time to arrive. Wobbly table and chairs. Filthy floors
Noteworthy details: Tiny place to get changed in the spa centre. Lockers broken with doors missing. Loads of bugs near the jacuzzi

Totally gone down the pan!
Spa area filthy, mouldy curtains near the jacuzzi inside.
Overcrowded, no room in the sauna or steam room, Infact steam room not working. Jacuzzi outside freezing apparently found out from another guest it was actually broken. Guests should be informed if this is the case; common courtesy
Went as part of my 50th birthday celebrations, spa not fit for purpose and all left very disappointed
Ps not the kind of response I expected from the manager Says it all really. If you can't offer the full services as advertised you should cancel until you have finished your refurbishments.

Called in for a walk and a bite to eat.
I am vegan - very little chpice on the menu and I wasn't inspired to eat there by the decor, surroundings and superficial cleanliness.
Everything was shabby.
Went for a walk in the grounds "country park" - more like a dumping ground - lots of old hotel fixtures, fittings and equipment littering the area randomly (eg broken bath, dining chairs stacked and rotting in an old horse box, broken golf style buggies, rubbish bin area overflowing and visible to the public). Paths overgrown and little bridges over streams were delapidated / broken.
Lake water near the "country house" was dirty and it wasn't inviting to sit out, despite sunny day.
Staff were OK- quite friendly but everything about the place was "in the past" and tired looking - including cleanliness - old confetti under a coffee table, ornaments not arranged properly (pushed to the back of a shelf) and windows filthy. Staff apologised that a lunch table (sitting about 12) was still not cleared away at 4pm. One member of staff eventually apologised for the uncleared tables and explained that they had a lot of staff "off sick".
Toilets looked like some of the fittings had been upgraded, but the tiles on the walls were from the 80s.
I didn't want to eat here, as I worried about hygiene and cross-contamination standards being upheld - as everything else was of seemingly poor quality.
I wouldn't visit again.
Didn't take photos at the time as I was there at the invite of a friend who lived nearby, and I thought it would be rude.
Walkability: Not easy as paths were overgrown and not marked.

A nice cabin room, but no sound privacy from semi-detached neighbours. Food was good, but a bit slow at times. Spa was a bit tired. Airport close but not too busy. That said, an absolutely fine 2-night stay.

Booked using a Wowcher. Reasonable deal however, bit misleading as seems to be advertised as a cabin with a hot tub but we got a small room adjoining to a cabin with no hot tub.
The actual location is gorgeous. Wildlife everywhere, very peaceful and serene. Reception has a beautiful log burning fire place which was lovely and welcoming upon arrival.
The room was okay, the bed was comfy but sadly the tv wasn?t working and squirrels on the roof can be a bit off putting.
The food was good, received a £30 each voucher within the deal for an evening meal and breakfast. It was a lot nicer than I expected but would not pay for drinks. Very expensive. £4.00 for Coke and £7+ for a pint.
Briefly used the spa facilities as access between certain hours were included in our stay. The jacuzzi was cold unfortunately and construction is happening next to it which is unfortunate but equally needed as spa could do with a spruce up. The steam room was really nice but I wouldn?t pay the £10 per hour it costs out of the complimentary hours.
Wedding party arrived on our second night and were very loud which tainted the experience slightly.
Overall, lovely and friendly staff members, can?t fault them at all. But spa could definitely be updated and I think some of the advertisement needs adjusting.
