I'd love to be able to give 5 stars, the menu is a tempting delight. However, the reality of our meals did not live up to expectations.
Starters... You shouldn't be able to overcook an omelette, but it was. (& My wife like well-cooked eggs!)
Mains...
Chicken escalope was again overcooked. Dry chicken in breadcrumbs is less than ideal. Lamb was served pink, however sinews were not removed and hence was chewy. Contrast that to a meat and potato pie which was lovely and had that home- made nature which you want.
Service was rather tainted by the over-use of the term 'guys'. Mature ladies hate being called 'guys'. Please use the terms 'sir', 'madam', 'ladies' or 'everyone'. Know your clientele.
The wait for the food was on the long side of acceptable. Our drinks order needed a reminder to appear.
The staff, though very pleasant seemed to randomly appear. I would suggest assigning someone to an area or table.
All in all expectations were set high, but not met. Hence the 3 stars.

It was a birthday weekend celebrating 96 years of my father in law. He lives locally and recommended the Dunkirk from previous excellent experience. We had a 5pm booking so we were early diners between us we had, Rumo steak, liver and bacon and fish & chips all beautifully served and very satisfying. I also had the Pigeon salad which was delicious. There was a slight delay with service but the staff were very helpful and friendly. Tue car park was full when we left.

The menu is amazing so much choice and nothing is ordinary it's all very intriguing and a little bit different from the standard food stuff you see on menu's. The food is outstanding the service is impeccable the staff are very well groomed and extremely pleasant & helpful. They also know the menu very well too so will talk you through it.
I've eaten here twice now both times found the food absolutely sublime. Very tasty and well cooked and thought about before being placed on the menu.
The surroundings are very pretty the decor is clean and well presented.
The only thing I think is a little bit of a let down is the prices are high.
You need a good £40 to £50 to eat and drink here.
£11 for a large wine but the food is worth the price for certain

I ordered the fish and chips with onion rings on the side. The freshness of the ingredients was immediately clear, and everything was well-prepared. The chips were unusually thick, closer to wedges, and lacked seasoning, which meant the flavour was dominated by plain potato. The fish had a lovely crisp batter, but a touch more seasoning would have made it even better. The onion rings were enjoyable, with a great crunch and pleasant flavour, but again felt under-seasoned. The highlight of the meal was the mushy peas, which were perfectly cooked and full of flavour, bringing balance to the dish. The décor was very smart, cosy, and well presented, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The staff struck the perfect balance, providing attentive service without being overbearing, which made for a pleasant dining experience. While the quality and presentation were excellent, a little more seasoning across the board would really help the flavours shine.

We love the Dunkirk. Usually it is just my wife and myself in the evening but last Sunday we went for Sunday lunch as a party of eight. Well, what can I say, everything was exceptional!! The service was speedy and first class, hats off to all the ladies on that day. The food was excellent and plentiful. We ate early and so the restaurant was fairly quiet when we arrived but by the time we left it was full with a buzzy atmosphere. We use this restaurant quite regularly because the food is consistently first class and the staff are excellent being both friendly and professional. I would thoroughly recommend.
