Last time we came 2 months ago, we had a lovely time, everything excellent. As we left, we booked the same table for tonight, as we knew we would be back. Massively disappointed to be shown to another table, where the couple right next to us could hear our conversation, and visa versa. We booked the requested table for good reason. Felt too uncomfortable so left and didn't bother with dinner. If you agree to a requested table, honour it please; we travelled a long way for this. Will not be back.

Excellent food (had the leg of lamb Sunday dinner), generous portions, great service, lovely pub. Highly recommended.

Food was amazing. Very nice menu, was spoiled for choice. The gammon had a very nice fire grilled flavour. The homemade chips were bang on! Only dropped a star because the service felt a bit lacking in attention. Kept having to try and get somebody?s attention just to get more drinks and eventually the bill. Maybe should have gone the bar but that wasn?t made clear. It looked like it was full table service. Place was cosy and busy. Would definitely go again and recommend to friends and family.

Went for lunch food and service were good. We're hoping to go for Sunday lynch as a few of our friends suggested recommended it.

Great food and was always my go to, but this visit was soured by the need to pay a non-refundable deposit?never needed that before for a 12 noon reservation. It will make me think twice about the venue next time.
Wheelchair accessibility: There isn?t any?entry from the car park is via some steep narrow stairs.

Food is spot on here been going for last 2/3 years only issue is the menu has never changed would be great to see chef put some new dishes on

Had a superb Sunday lunch there yesterday, although there was a temporary power cut in the bar the staff were outstanding and the food was truly delicious a definite 100% recommendation from me ?

This has now become our favourite place to eat. I had seen facebook posts, and the food looked nice, but we just hadn't got around to going.
We have been twice now and tried different things. The first time , we had the pulled beef baguettes with big chunky chips. The chips were gorgeous, I love home cooked chips as opposed to frozen fries. There was so much meat in the sandwich that I had to ask for something to take it home in, and I finished it off later at home.
The second time we tried to go on a Sunday but it was really busy and they couldn't do walk ins so it's best to book for Sunday dinner by the looks of it.
The third time, we both tried the steak pie dinner with mash and vegetables. The meat just melts in your mouth. The mash was very creamy, and the vegetables were cooked just right. The food was very hot and tasted freshly made, unlike some places where you can tell it's been sat under a heat lamp.
The beef gravy was made with meat juices instead of granuals. It was so nice, just how my parents used to make it for our Sunday dinners when we were kids.
I definitely highly recommend going. Well, actually, maybe not, I font want it too busy that we can't get in ourselves, haha!
The staff are really nice and friendly, there's a good-sized car park around the back. Some interesting decorations and items are displayed. They also have chickens at the back of the car park that you can look at.
Reasonably prices, especially considering the quality of food and service you get. We've paid more and got mediocre food and terrible service at other places.
So far, the only fault we have is that it's so nice that you can't always just drop in on a whim.
We're looking forward to trying another option on the menu on our next visit.
There's also two nice outdoor seating areas for when the weather is good. One at the front overlooking the lovely village and another at the side in a decking area.
Parking: I'm guessing at around 20 spaces, I've not really counted.

Great Sunday lunch and dog friendly. Service from one waitress in particular was questionable when she started having a go at people for not sitting on the correct tables outside when this can't be helped if you're on your own and someone jumps onto your table when you go inside to order....
