Waited three hours for a delivery eventually having the order cancelled. I feel sorry for the three drivers that arrived at the restaurant only to be left waiting around as they concentrated on apparsntly more important customers in front of them. These drivers only get paid for the deliveries they make and they have to contend with restaurants messing them about like this. Shame on you Pizza Express I won't be ever eating with you again and will tell everyone i know not to either.

The restaurant was freezing cold and we had to sit in our jackets. As other reviews have stated the wait for food was incredibly long, we went at 3pm on a Sunday so it wasn't particularly busy, we chose PE as it's usually a quick and tasty meal but we could have gone somewhere much better for the amount of time and price it cost. Some of the staff were friendly, others made you feel like an inconvenience. We were given dessert menus and after 25 minutes waiting to order gave up. Overhaul is desperately needed on the management of this PE, the pizzas were a bit thrown together also, but we were starving by the time they arrived.

Wish I could give 0 stars. We are regulars to Pizza Express. But we will never visit this branch at Castleford. We have waited for at least 15 mins to be seated. They had lots of empty seats and the restaurant was not that busy. The managers and staff looked at us but did not even acknowledge or say they will be there to help. Was frustrated and left to another restaurant.

Tried calling to amend an online order, must have called about 10 times, literally, and no one answered the phone, get better customer service from a 17 year old working in McDonald?s ??

The restaurant was very cold, I had to stay with my coat on. We sat down at 6.15pm and the waited a while before our order was placed. Than waited until 7.30pm for the food to arrive. The restaurant was short staffed and everything was happening very slowly. The staff, however were polite and kind. Next morning was an interesting one as both me and my partner experienced terrible stomach aches followed by diarrhea. I would not recommend Pizza Express Castleford.

Can?t complain about the food however the service was terrible. Had to wait for table to be cleaned before we were seated even though it looked like there was tables free. Asked for dough balls to come out with our mains, these appeared quickly then had to wait over an hour for 2 pizzas. Ordered 3 dips for the £2 offer and only 2 came. Couldn?t be bothered to complain as I?d nearly been in the restaurant for 2 hours. The restaurant was also freezing cold. Not the usual Pizza Express experience and doubt I?ll be visiting this branch again.

It would appear the heating isn?t working in this restaurant. This wasn?t mentioned at all when we got there: so spent the entire meal freezing cold. Topped with the extremely slow service taking our order and the a 30+ minute wait for food. Not sure we will be returning

Service is awful, we waited for 5-10mins to be acknowledged at the door. When we dined the heating was broken, so we were sitting in the cold. Despite this it took over an hour for for the food to arrive despite the restaurant being quiet. I?d avoid if possible

Food was as good as all other pizza express, but we waited 50 minutes for food, wasn't that busy. There were 6 staff members just standing around and we had to ask them to order. Our waiter was dismissive, food just put anywhere on the table.
Had to go and find someone to ask for our desserts, the table was not cleared, we had to do it ourselves, and then one dessert didn't turn up!

Disappointing. Chewy cold pizza, no parsley or garlic in the garlic & parsley butter or the garlic butter. Waited 2h. Couldn?t get a refund

Worst Pizza Express experience I?ve ever had in 15 years of dining at different PE restaurants around Yorkshire.
1. Had to wait at the entrance for 10 minutes before the manager eventually came over to ask how many people our table was for. (Just 2)
2. The place was so dirty. Nearly all of the tables hadn?t been cleaned even though it was half empty and had left overs everywhere we looked. The place was a mess.
3. Once seated, it took 15 for anyone to take our order.
4. Our dough ball starter took 35 minutes to arrive after that. The butter was rock hard and so it was impossible to spread on the dough.
5. The pizza came after 50 minutes. I had a basic American and the pepperoni was in piles on one side of my pizza. Looked like the chef couldn?t be bothered to separate the pieces so they were stuck together in big clumps.
6. There was a small gap behind my chair and the next table and yet the waiters decided to carry boxes of dirty plates past me most of the evening. I was knocked at least 2 times whilst eating.
7. After sitting there in my coat the entire time freezing, we found out the heating wasn?t working either. There was an electric heater located at the opposite end of the restaurant. This also meant when the pizza came out, our food was stone cold after 5 minutes.
I?m a gold rewards member so I eat regularly at PE and will continue to in other restaurants but this has to be the worst experience ever. We won?t ever be returning. Recommend avoiding and try a different one if you can.

Staff don?t even acknowledge you as you walk in all stood around doing nothing, they need new staff and a decent manager. It was so quiet as well for this time of year

This place is a joke, we waited 2 hours for our food that never came, the restaurant wasn't even busy and it looked like other customers were having the same issues. The manager stood in the corner laughing with other staff who just stood around and didn't care. We decided to leave and it seems they hadn't even started making the mains. Lost out on a party of 7 definitely won't be going back.

Food was fine, nothing special. Dough balls were stone cold.
Staff were nice but the service was incredibly slow. Just 2 of us and we waited 45mins for our food. We went on a week day evening and the restaurant was maybe at 15-20% capacity so, no excuse for the slow service.
