Read the small print !Health Care Assistant - Elland, West YorkshireI had a telephone interview and was offered the job 5 minutes later.I attended the head office in Brighouse and was left to fill in a shed load of forms which honestly made my wrist hurt from signing so many of them. I don't think I've signed so many forms for a company in my life and this in turn probably caused me to not read the forms as carefully as I should have as I just wanted to get to the end of them. One of the forms signed was about the circumstances if you leave their employment within your six months probation period, which I'll come back to later. The head office staff I met were very keen for me to start asap, and there seemed to be a constant flow of new applicants from phone calls I could hear in the background when I was collecting my PPE and ID badge the following week.I completed 2 shadowing days (a morning and an evening shift) and cannot fault the helpfulness of the care staff and friendliness of the residents I met.It seemed to just be the same resident calls and involved a lot of personal care and medication administration.I felt that being a car driver is definitely more beneficial, as residents who live out in the sticks also require support and it is sometimes left to support workers that don't drive to make their way there and back in time for their next call, which seemed unfair as surely car drivers would be more suited to take these appointments on ?Rotas appeared to change from day to day which is a real bug bear of mine as I prefer to have my rota laid out for the whole month so that I can plan around it with the rest of my life.I realised after my 2nd session that domiciliary care isn't what I wanted to get into at this time and I definitely prefer the supported living side of care. After completing my shadow shifts, I didnt receive a call from head office asking how it went and instead received a late night text asking if I could cover an evening shift the following day. I politely declined and informed them that I would not be continuing my employment. Not the way I would normally inform a company, but I figured it was better to be honest.Pay day is on the 15th and despite being told that shadow shifts were only paid at minimum wage, I thought that I would at least get something for my time, however I was wrong. One of the forms I had signed had indicated that if you were to leave their employment during the first 6 months probation, then you were required to pay back any online training that you had completed out of your accrued wages ! For this reason I unfortunately wasn't paid for my shadowing shifts !I haven't known of a company ever do this in my 14 years of working in care and although I can appreciate that online training cannot be cheap, I feel as though it is unfair to take the money off of the employees if the company isn't a correct fit for them.In closing I would encourage potential employees to please read everything you sign when you register with the company, as it could end up costing you, if you leave the company within the 6 months probationary period.ProsFriendly residents and helpful care staff.ConsLast minute rota changes and not beneficial for non car drivers.

Terrible care provider. The carers come at different times to suit them. It's far from person centred. They have caused UTIs by wiping back to front when providing personal care. They leave the house filthy. Her bed had the quilt pulled over a urine stained sheet. I have worked in the H&S care industry for over 30 years and this company is one of the worst I've encountered! They leave medication within the clients reach, the client has dementia and is at risk. The care staff speak to each other in their own language making the client feel uncomfortable in her own home. We are looking at other providers. I'd not trust them to take care of a goldfish correctly. AVOID!Since originally writing this review things have gone from bad to worse. She now has terrible bed sores because staff are leaving her in bed for up to 15 hours at a time. The carers don't even stay for the hour they're paid for, the neighbours have told us they often only stay 10 minutes! The house is left filthy and smelling of urine. Bins overflowing.I wrote a review on Trailblazers Facebook page, the day after three more reviews appeared which one was written by the current manager! The other two were written by 2 of her Facebook friends, lying to try put their score back up.All reviews have since been removed. The company is an absolute joke. Except Neglect and abuse isn't a joke. We are now in contact with a social worker and looking at legal advice of where to go next.I strongly urge everyone to avoid this company! If you're unlucky enough to already have negative dealings with them then contact CQC.

Trailblazer Social Care has been a customer with us for a few months now and already, I can see such great potential and promise in them.I have been liaising with Ali during the training sessions and throughout; he is a real gentleman and a very dedicated professional in his sector/company. As soon as we started the training, Trailblazersc has hit the ground running and I can definitely see that they care about their clientele and staff. With Ellamae now joining and taking over, I can definitely see the passion she has to deliver only the best results within the care sector.I hope we at CarePlanner can work with Trailblazersc for many years to come and I can see them going from strength-to-strength as time goes on.All the best and keep up the amazing work you all do!

DONT EVEN APPPLY HERE! Absolute waste of time. I received training, i even lost a a weeks wage from my previous work place because of the training , paid for my DBS check and did 2 days of shadowing. After that they failed to communicate and tell me about the next step, even tho i tried communicating.

I started Trailblazer Social Care with my college industry placement and got offered a job after my placement hours had completed. This company is by far the best I have worked for, from staff to facilities. As soon as I stepped into the office, they were all welcoming, and you could feel a positive atmosphere. They treat everyone like family rather than a colleague, and everyone has much respect for one another.I have learned so much, and this is a mind-opening experience. I would recommend anyone looking to work for a great company, and for those who are looking for service support for their loved ones, I would recommend this place as I know staff work hard to guarantee the best service support.
