They want you to set direct debit up but don't show up double check with bank yes others went out, it's a worry because it could lead you with missed at least min payment leading to making a payment on the direct debit day of you pay amount before they still take payment but don't show on account and could with charges not yet,was point as DD are in place to prevent, other cards take payment before and don't take DD so I pay more no point if they take DD anyway even a debit card show's but 2 day's some times much longer even Barclays pay it is slow and if you keep checking they log you out and while to get back in, good customer service but it's ringing up again making direct debit pointless

Vanquis what has happened to you??? you started off really well, I have had my account for about 5 years with no problems. made all payments on time everything good. Then I had to change my payment date as my husband started a new job set up what they call a promise to pay for when he got paid what a good idea and a big help, or so I thought I checked my app and found the promise to pay was no longer active on my account so I had set it up manually. Got a letter this morning telling me that I haven't paid when amount was due its not due till the 19th that's the promise to pay date original due date 29th I have just spoken to them and they just send you round in circles they say a lot but don't seem to actually do or resolve anything. I also mentioned that I am really shocked at how often and high the interest increases are I have had 3 in the past 6 months or so and was informed that there is another one coming for 55% I was told I could speak to customer cervices to freeze this if I wasn't happy of Couse I'm not happy with increase and they would Freeze it I was put through to customer service and when they did answer the phone I could hear them all having a personal conversation I said hello and was put on hold, eventually someone spoke to me but not in English they went off the line i assumed an English speaking employee would come to speak to me instead they just hung up. whats that all about Vanquis ???? you cant keep putting peoples interest up like this its wrong. I have never known this with any other company I have dealt with. SHAME ON YOU VANQUIS SHAME ON YOU.

If you're comfortable with spending an hour on the phone pursuing customer service, or waiting for a fortnight without receiving responses to your emails or website queries, then this company might be a good fit for you. However, for me, the higher interest rate on my savings didn't justify the time and effort. I should mention that when I did manage to reach customer service, they delivered on their promises, which somewhat salvaged their standing. Nevertheless, the overall experience was a letdown.

Had a spot of bother financially. I have 5 creditors and all except vanquis helped me out. All I was asking was 1 month breathing space to get back on my feet. All the other 4 were so helpful. I'll be paying you what a I owe and I'll not use vanquis again.

Scammers. Set me up a credit card without me even applying and I can't cancel it. It's just plain fraud and they do nothing

Bank refuses to help negotiating balanceI got my Vanquis car almost 6 years ago, never missed a payment and never exceed my limit. For several times, I would even pay all my balance at once. I am now facing some financial problems and I called the bank to get help to negotiate my balance or at least freeze my interests until I get back to my feet. To my surprise, the bank plainly refused to help me with any plans due to the fact that I have "exceed income", which is the only income I have left for any food/medical expenses or for any emergencies. I am extremely disappointed that, the moment I need the most, I was simply left with no solution whatsoever to help me with my debts and to help me to clear my balance. I do not recommend.

Its true you never know how a company performs until you have a problem.This company does not there customer service is none existent customer relations inconsistent have only been dealing with problem for 6 months and getting nowhere no stars

Horrible credit card company and very expensive, on ywo occasions they took monthly sees from my balance putting me overdrawn for minutes until I transfered funds to the account only to be charged £12 each time. Despite complaining the ombudsman they still did not refund. I p[aid off the balance and they wrote a letter telling me how caring they was to which I made several comments to thier statements then today a woman phoned me and actually asked for my password. NEVER TRUST THEM

I have had add a few problems with Vanquis I was in hospital which meant my bills started mounting up up when I was in a proper position to make the right decisions I found out that even if I pay the full amount it will still come out as default I don't think this is fair considering I had no choice in going into hospital it was against my choice however I've been told to wait 14 days for response now that I've given them proof that I was actually in hospital I would like to carry on with Vanquis I think they are good just in a bad situation here I'm sure they will sort it out I can't wait to give five stars in my review

This company is not understanding or hopeful at all. One colleague says one thing then another collegeaue says no. Need up to date training. I will NOT recommend.

AVOID, AVOID AVOID!!! My wife waited 4 weeks. She sent private and confidential information from her bank over that they requested just for it to be returned. She called back and they said it got sent to the wrong department abd advised paying to get it sent recorded delivery. So she did just that. They advised once theyve received it, it can take up to 3 weeks for a decision and another 2 weeks to send the card. The weeks past and we still heard nothing back. They said she will receive an email with a decision and still heard nothing back. She called up to find out what's going on, only to be told without any reason as to why that the application had been declined. They also refused to send back the documents with her private and confidential information on it. The advert on the tv is an outright lie. The longest drawn out progress for a 'no' we've ever experienced.
