My shopping visit to Enterprise 5 Morrisons at Idle today wasn't pleasant.
It's been going downhill for a while now due to out of stock items and now they've taken out over half of the manned checkouts and replaced them with even more self service ones - the queues were horrendous and the amount of red lights flashing from the self serve ones was a joke, which led to customer frustration. Staff were trying their best but clearly struggling.
I'm not completely against self serve and agree with giving customers the option, however having the majority of checkouts self serve, leaving only a few manned tills is ridiculous in my opinion.
The main downfall is that this appears to have led to longer queues and unhappy customers.
Surely those are the two most important factors of retail? It's not rocket science.
Stock availability + an efficient check out = good customer experience ??
That's what customers want!
Instead we are given:
Regular out of stock items + long queues at checkouts due to manned tills disappearing and self serviced ones messing up! = Bad customer experience ?
I only use this store due to convenience and locality, I'm seriously considering making a slightly longer trip for my weekly shop for the sake of a more normal and less stressful food shopping experience.

Just been in store and they?ve ripped out most of the manned tills and put in self serve. The woman next to me had a full trolley and they refused to man a till !

Very annoying shop. App is full of annoying and time consuming complicated time limited offers , which are too often out of stock or don't appear on the receipt. Others are out of stock so leed to disappointment. Too often common items like organic milk are unavailable. Nearest but certainly not my favourite supermarket.

The store manager and staff is brilliant except the team leader lady (Denica) she is very rude and arrogant. I hate to shop here whenever she is working. It's nothing personal but the way she is. Doesn't deserve to be a team leader. I wish the manager looked into it. Many thanks

I am absolutely appalled with today?s service. I ordered from here using uber eats to get some essentials. The bread they sent me was literally MOULDY, it was a whole month expired. How is this acceptable?!?! Clearly shows they don?t stock rotate and throw out the bad stuff

Morrisons is not as good as it was when owned by Morrisons. But i still Shop here for bits and bats and there are some things you can't get anywhere else
