The staff are so rude ,think they need to be taught some manners. Please and thank you wouldn't go a miss. Also when asked if they could take a tray away so we could sit on a table the girl was very rude and said I can't so had to do it myself. Also while having my coffee I saw all the other customers having to do the same. Maybe some customer service training wouldn't go a miss with staff.

Ordered a Mac n cheese with garlic bread, it came out but no garlic bread with it? flagged the waitress down and she seemed unsure so went to ask the kitchen. Came back and told me that the chef had said I didn?t get garlic bread because there isn?t any. Asked about an alternative but they said there?s nothing. Despite the guy next to me later getting buttered toast which would have sufficed. Should have been told on ordering or at least when it was brought out
The mac n cheese was also about 90% cheese, barely any macaroni and grease pooling on top. At £7.50 you don?t expect that much but at least to come as it?s advertised & not just a bowl of greasy melted cheese.
Only saving grace was that the girl was polite and apologetic and genuinely didn?t seem to realise they?d run out. Staff should communicate better though.
Wouldn?t recommend even for a quick lunch. Better off getting a meal deal

The food is very good but sadly there?s a problem with staff. The cafe needs people who actually want to be there and not people who look as if they?re clock watching and hating every minute that they have to spend in that cafe. They don?t really want customers. To actually bother to write a review takes some effort, yet despite other reviews equally referring to the rudeness and poor service given to customers by the staff, the management at Tesco appear to choose to ignore these comments. The staff in the cafe at worst need retraining in customer service, care and hospitality and at best need replacing.

I love it here aat the Batley store and always have Brunch or otherwise.
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian or Vegan breakfast is good
Dietary restrictions: They have no lactose free products but then nowhere does which is strange as lactose intolerance is on the increase. Alternative milks are not the same as lactose free.
Parking: Plenty and safe
Kid-friendliness: Your usual supermarket cafe

I have just purchased a croissant from tesco as the cafe wasn?t serving food. Went to sit down and eat it and was told by a very grumpy employee that I wasn?t allowed to eat tesco food in the cafe! There was absolutely no one else around, the cafe was empty but he needed his power trip to enforce only cafe food to be eaten at tables. Definitely won?t be purchasing food from them. Ever, the customer service is awful. As people have said in other reviews.

Club card issues as usual .. avo on toast ..with far too many chilli flskes ..blew my head off .. also there was a black short hair in it ..don't they wear hair nets nowadays

Been here on a few occasions now, and whatever issue the staff have needs to be addressed. Whether they need to seek employment elsewhere, or just leave whatever personal problems are making them all so angry/lethargic/disinterested at home, because it's disgusting behaviour across the board. There is one particular woman, who seems at the very least angry you're daring to make her do something by asking for serving, and at the worst, disrespectful - she slammed a tray down in front of me, for another customer who had merely gone to seat her young children at a table, and said "Well she can come and get it, I'm not her slave!"Disgusting behaviour from a service employee - if she can't handle being customer-facing, she needs to move elsewhere in the company.Needless to say, now my daughter and I have tried the cafe more than once, and the service was exactly the same, we won't be back.It's a real shame, as the food and drinks are actually pretty decent.

Called in with my mum after shopping to have some lunch, was met with sorry we are closing the kitchen a member of staff has walked out. Decided to just have a coffee and cake while stood waiting to pay the said member of staff came out to the front having a stressed conversation with the lady who was serving us saying we are supposed to be a cafe and we have no stock, not what we expected and felt it was unprofessional to have witnessed this as customers. Latte and scone were nice but shame about this issue as all the staff seemed stressed and under pressure.

Went down today 31/10/23 for a breakfast and a coke.Seems I sat down to only enjoy my drink as an hour passed and still didn't have my breakfast. I got a refund and left. Won't be coming again.

Went today with my Mum to have breakfast/lunch before we did our shopping. We arrived just after 11am. Mum wanted a breakfast, I fancied one of the 'light bites' which are mainly panini's (which I like) I went to the counter to ask if the 'light bites' were being served at this time. Yes indeed they were, they are served all day. Excellent. So I ordered the tuna, cheese and spring onion panini but the lady said they weren't serving paninis as they had no panini rolls. No problem, so I asked if I could order from the 'lunch menu'. The lady then suddenly announced that no food would be served for 30 minutes as the chef had just left the kitchen to have his lunch! Really? I half thought she was joking but she then kind of ran off into the back. Went to get Mum who'd found us a nice table to tell her lunch was off as the chef was having his ? Did our shopping, was interesting to find packs of panini rolls in the bread section ?.

We are regular visitors to tesco cafe. Was told today that I can have bacon but it can't be well done because the cafe would close in an hour??? on another occasion was told I couldn't have toast as the toaster was broken and you can't make toast under a grill because it will dry the bread out. How I've managed to get to 60 years old is a mystery

Just had a breakfast a d the egg looks like it as cooked on the floor. The bacon was too tuff to cut and the toast was cold with the butter just out of the fridge.
