Lovely pub called in while passing through baildon at the weekend and will definitely return. All of the staff are welcoming, friendly and happy to help. The atmosphere was pleasant and everyone seemed friendly. Food was lovely and service was fast. Will definitely return

We are not regular visitors, calling perhaps three or four times a year. When we called a month or two back we were told they were not serving food - it seems the reason was they had a big order to get out?
Called today (just before 12.30) and requested the fish platter. Was told they had to check it was still on as it might be frozen - it was still on but it would be half an hour. We changed the order to the cumberland sausage - I was not informed there would be a wait for that as well.
After half an hour I queried the delay with our second choice meal. I was told it would be another ten minutes! It wasn't particularly busy.
We asked for, and got, our money back.
It's a shame as we have enjoyed a few meal there in the past.

Lovely local pub in a traditional building. Polite and pleasant staff with a quiet atmosphere. Several traditional ales and typical pub grub on offer.

Very poor service, food arrived with no cutlery or condiments. Extremely small portions . We got 2 normal meals and 2 senior, the senior fish was the size of a fish finger. No tartaric sauce on one dish and no lemon ?. Not well presented although it was tasty .Ordered 4 desserts only 3 arrived. Staff knocked 10% off the bill but I had a blue light card so really no better off as he would only accept one of the discounts. Very disappointing as we do not dine out very often

Went on a bit of a nostalgia trip to a pub that has retained it's character but little else. Virtually empty pub when we visited. Choice of beer very limited as pump clips on all except one real ale turned around. Not in a hurry to go back.

The folk behind the bar were brilliant- hard working but polite and capable as well. The bar was busy, but with a friendly atmosphere.
Four stars for the food as my steak was over done.
