Had an excellent meal at Halfway House. I mentioned on my online booking that we were celebrating my mum?s birthday, and when we got there the table was decorated. I was blown away by the thoughtfulness and the team couldn?t do enough to ensure we had a lovely meal. Excellent service and food. We?ll definitely return. Thank you!

We enjoyed our visits here, the food is good. The only issue is the fact that on our two visits we asked for a table that was in a quiet place, because my husband has dementia. On both occasions the lady did not do this, she sat us at the top the first time, where a party of 6 arrived and their phone was constantly noisy. The second time she sat us in a corner out of the way then shortly afterwards placed 4 young men next to us who were loud. The bottom of the restaurant is empty we asked for this area both times. It?s a shame because it?s a nice place but she really needs to listen.

My husband and I were greeted by Kate who is so friendly. We had a delicious meal served by another friendly Kate. I particularly enjoyed our pork, apple and cider paté starter. I felt that nothing was too much for this duo and definitely recommend the food and ambience.

First time here on Sunday and what a wonderful place.
Food was excellent staff were pleasant very modern and clean .
The only thing was it was half full/empty which suprised us because of the quality of the place. It felt a real shame that a higher standard restaurant didn't have more people in it.
I couldn't put my finger on it but it shows how much of a struggle the hospitality trade is having .
Keep up the good work guys I for one will recommend this place.

Not been for a while to this venue, but really enjoyed our meal tonight, great service, nice welcome plus excellent menu choice. Our chosen meal was fishcake which was excellent, plus other diner opted for steak & ale pie again lovely pastry and loads of filling! Will visit again soon.

We have been several times over the years. At times in the past the service has been quite slow, but the last few times we have been in it has been a lot better. We had four Sunday lunches today and they were with us very quickly, the portion sizes were generous, and we all enjoyed it. We just about had room for desserts (one being shared and another being a mini one with coffee) and they were great too.

The pub is lovely really nicely decorated, however when it came to the food that wasn't great we arrived on a Sunday tea time to a really empty restaurant the lady that greeted us was lovely drinks orders taken and delivered, however we had to wait quiet a while to try and catch someone's eye for a food order.
Meals arrived and I have to say I've never had such dry fish I was told they had only one left but still wouldn't of expected not to be able to eat it, no one came to check if food was ok so didn't get a chance to say anying before our friends went and paid, fell short on food and service
