“Been to my local vision express recently, had my eyes tested ( excellent service etc) and spectacles chosen and ordered, specifically choosing a certain well known make as I understood the person dealing with me said they ( this make) had certain benefits ie warranty and replacement for loss. I had misunderstood the terms etc and when I had collected my spectacles I asked for a copy of this warranty and was told it was not a warranty, it was insurance and was not pertinent to this particular make, but to any spectacles over a certain cost. I asked the person for a copy of said insurance, or where I could view it on line or any form of written proof that this ‘verbal only’ insurance exists. As I am 78 and have been in business nearly sixty years only a handshake is good enough for verbal agreement with me.”
