Beautiful gardens in winter. Especially, loved the tropical planting of bamboo, tree ferns, echiums.Unfortunately, for me, the sculptures really detracted from the beauty.SP1982.

Visited on Friday last week, what a treat! Provided with a wheelchair by friendly staff on the cash desk, mostly accessible and plenty of places to duck out of the rain showers. The greenhouses in the walled garden were an absolute delight. We had soup in the cafe which was priced well and very tasty being homemade. Plenty of opportunity to picnic on site and extend a walk over the hills. Will definitely be back in the Spring

First time visit this week (mid-November) and whilst all the plants are over it is still well worth going. Very well laid out with multiples areas to see. For the fit amongst us there are also a couple of walks around the woodland. Restaurant is also worth a visit with food freshly cooked and tasty. All in all a good day out.

We went on a midweek late morning in June and found a parking space ok, The gardens were relatively quiet, and the marked 'orange' trail was very quiet with only a few other people to be seen. Amazing views and gardens, and well worth a visit. They have plant sales, shop and café with seats inside and out. We had another visit in October and were a bit disappointed to see the chalk stream dry, but great to see so many other things to see at this time of the year.

As its a garden you have to appreciate that it's not all colour at some times. Nice family walk though with your dogs and drink and cake was welcome. They incourage you to put your doggy bag in the bins in the car park but they could really do with at least one in the grounds at the far south end because walking around with the bag and having a picnic with a bag of poo is not great! Also more clean water dog bowls please, simply not enough. Also way in being same as way out equals nightmare of two flows through one cramped shop!

Lovely setting for a semi-formal gardens. There are plenty of open spaces with fields, pasture and wooded areas, in addition to the walled gardens. The College is in the grounds, but drop-in visits are not permitted. The walked gardens included greenhouses and a great array of vegetables, fruit, and plants. Beautiful flowers are interspersed among the very healthy vegetables. There is a pleasant spacious cafe that serves light meals for breakfast, lunch, and teas. The service was excellent.

A very picturesque garden with a variety of areas. Takes about 2 hours to walk around the main gardens, add an hour if you want to do the countryside loop. Most of the planting is pollinator friendly so loads of bees and butterflies. A lovely pergola and several little summer houses for a sit down in the shade.

I came along with my friend who was having her baby bump maternity photo shoot, her family and our lovely and talented photographer-nurse friend. What did I bring to the table? Laughter, jokes, comments, bts (behind the scenes) videography and a whole lot of amazingness. ????There is an entrance fee you have to pay at the till to enter the garden estate. Well maintained. Lovely flowers and a very good location for photoshoots, weddings and afterparties. Sheeps were running freely (mind your steps ?)We dined in their restaurant. It wasnt that overpriced and it tasted good. They sold some goodies and souvenirs as well as produce they have harvested from the gardens.

Such a stunning garden, I felt like I had walked into a painting, with tumbling hills dotted with sheep on the left as you go in. The garden was full of different types of bee and butterflies, such great planting , it?s well worth a visit. The cafe was lovely too, the homemade gooseberry crumble was delicious ( gooseberries from their garden) Also it?s dog friendly ?? can?t wait to go back!

Words don't do this beautiful place justice, it's like a heaven on earth. Intricately manicured lawns, beautifully designed beds with exotic plants from the entire globe, trees that exceed five hundred years old and a vine from 1560!The architecture of the main college building is staggeringly beautiful, hand carved stone artwork in the lobby with tapestries, hand carved mantelpiece with saxon kings and queens carved into reliefs.Staff are super friendly and helpful, cafe/restaurant is really very good quality and nowhere near as pricey as you'd expect for somewhere like this. It's down to earth while being other worldly beautiful. The shop where you enter has arts, crafts and various family items for sale and super clean toilets for everyone including lesser abled visitors. Plenty of parking too. There is an extensive selection of plants to purchase, most of which are reared on the property and all reasonably priced. There's also a small door in the main wall which leads to the private chapel, which is actually a very big full blown church with it's very own graveyard. Headstones from as far back as the 16th century, with so so much history. You can purchase a year long pass for £36 which allows you to bring a guest for £9.60 for the day. I'd recommend getting there early, not because its busy but because there's so much to see. If you're into architecture, horticulture or history, this is a dream come true for you.Food is great in the restaurant, but my advice is bring a blanket and a picnic and enjoy the majesty of the rolling fields and amazing scenery while you picnic.I hope you really do enjoy it as much as my daughter and myself have, have a great time!

A lovely place to explore.Lovely gardens and plants to walk through. The 2 mile walk amongst the sheep to reach the high point for lovely views was good - when up the top near the forest/woodland area, listening to the sound of birds was so peaceful and relaxing!Seeing some of the handmade items in the shop from the college students was great too (although keep close eye on price tags when at the checkout as different figures appeared on the till).Food options were very nice too.We probably spent about half a day here.
