Waited an hour and a half for my roast dinner with no apology for the wait. When the dinner finally came my roast potatoes were burnt to a crisp and hardly no vegetables. My dinner cost over £17 and as we had to pay up front cdnt walk out. The 2 men serving were so miserable and unfriendly., needless to say we won't be going there again.

A Royally Good Time at The Kings Head Inn, Upper Beeding!???I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Kings Head Inn in Upper Beeding, and it was an absolute gem! Nestled in the heart of this charming village, the inn exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff's friendliness is unparalleled ? they treat you like royalty without the need for a crown. The service was prompt, and they certainly know their way around a pint glass. The menu offers a regal array of dishes, and I must say, the chefs are culinary wizards. The food was fit for a king (or queen!), and the presentation was a feast for the eyes. If you're a foodie, this place is a crown jewel. As for the ambiance, it strikes the perfect balance between historic charm and contemporary comfort. The decor is tastefully done, making you feel like you've stepped back in time, but with WiFi ? a win-win!The Kings Head Inn also boasts a selection of local ales that could rival any kingdom's treasury. I'd recommend trying their house special ? it's a concoction that could turn even the most stoic into a jester. And this is where most of the sarcasm ends...In conclusion, The Kings Head Inn does have its quirks. The staff's vibe might be described as slightly peculiar, with an occasional disdainful look when ordering at the bar. The redeeming quality, however, is the enchanting garden. A haven to escape the idiosyncratic interior and bask in the glory of summer days. Ideal for families, with a charming climbing frame shaped like a ship, complete with safe rubber pellets below. Just set your expectations at a down-to-earth level, and you're in for an average experience.

The Kings Head is my local. It?s a genuinely very old pub with oak beams probably from the 16th century.Harvey?s and HSB ales. Recommend Sunday lunch.

Very old tavern, established 1504. Would have liked to have stayed longer but surprised to discover they close early at 8pm during the week.

Traditional pub. Great location next to river, good beer and lovely unkempt garden. Renowned for grumpy staff and long wait for food

Inchs cider, kegged. Nice garden. Nothing wrong with the service, despite claims by others. Pint and crisps £6.

If I could give negative star rating I would. What a total dump. The landlord is unbelievably grumpy and rude. He doesn?t care how long you wait to be served. It?s obviously getting in the way to serve anyone. The food is disgusting and takes forever. There is no gluten free options and in fact I was laughed at when I asked about my allergy. Seriously the location is lovely and the garden a great location but it?s not worth it for the misery of trying to get served.

OK but looks a bit tired inside and out. Landlord did his job in serving me but didn't feel particularly welcome. Garden has potential but in desparate need of a mow and clean up.

Lovely location, beer all good. Food and service aren't so great I'm afraid.
