This has to be the best curry we have had throughout the whole of Sussex! Staff are friendly and helpful and the food is Devine! Great quality and value for money too which is rare ! Customers for life ?

It's the staff that let it down. I guess they have small village mentality and also they're the only restaurant in village. Walked in and ignored. Asked for a booth in a more or less empty restaurant and it was hard work for them to give me this. Not cordial. They add 10% for service to bill which really annoyed me as I was doing all the work in that exchange by trying to be so nice so they would treat me nicer. Curry was bland. Also menu says poppadoms a quid, charged £2. Couldn't be bothered to argue about this, but honestly, it's a rubbish place with mardy cold unfriendly vibe and frankly I'd eat on a bench with a takeout than go there again. I make a better curry anyway. Oh, wine overpriced too. V limited menu.

Wonderful and original Indian food, so good we went back to the following night. We have eaten in a lot of Indian restaurants in our time and this one is definitely worth Tripadviser write up to let others know. Nice wine list too. Highly recommended

Went here for a last minute birthday meal and the staff were very accommodating and attentive. The food was delicious and I highly recommend saving room for the coconut supreme ice cream (out of this world!)

I have never been here before, but its now my favourite Indian restaurant!! ? ? I came with my Son & friend, my son has had a takeaway & recommend for out meal out, the staff were so welcoming, especially 'Ash' who Served us, he literally smiled all the time, very friendly & he was so helpful.I normally cook at home, so was struggling to choose,Ash recommend a mild (i dont do hot)? chicken curry with a hint of mint, so creamy, absolutely delious, we all loved the food, I actually couldn't finish all mine, so Ash very kindly box it up and put extra rice in a box so i could have another meal again today, very generous with the portion sizes, totally recommend this lovely, clean, friendly restaurant, for eat in or take away.Thankyou ?

A fantastic place to eat! Wonderful service, lovely clean restaurant and excellent food. Tastiest Indian I have ever eaten. Would definitely recommend for either a takeaway, or a sit-down meal. Ash (our server) was so very kind, helpful and always had a smile.

Service wasn't great, quite patronising, food really wasn't good, and well overpriced. The only decent thing was the onion bhajis. Wouldn't recommend it!

Went for dinner was waiting for ages to be seated. The decor was very dated and no vibe at all. Staff were not friendly and lively like most curry house staff are. Now the food was another level of rank. We ordered two different dishes and they both tasted exactly the same, watery bland tomato. You can get a better curry from Iceland. Then let's talk about the price. Felt like I'd had my pants pulled down as everything was bad, so bad yet the bill was so much higher than wede added up and was £60 for two people!

I don?t like writing bad reviews but this is a waste of a spot in Steyning that could be filled with a good restaurant. Firstly the restaurant wasn?t busy and we were asked to wait at a table at the front for a long time. The man was abrupt when I wanted to order food at the same time as drinks and didn?t take our food order. They weren?t attentive at all and when asking for extra condiments, had to wait a long time. The food was the worst curry I?ve eaten genuinely the chicken tasted foul and the sauce tasted the same in both curries and so bland. The price is ridiculous! £60 we ended up paying for without any naan bread and only a drink each. I honestly feel it?s an absolute rip off.

Always loved coming here for an Indian meal. Not the cheapest, but as always you pay your money and take your choice.Parking: Car park is free and opposite the restaurant.

Great food and service. Atmosphere is a bit lacking and the building could use a bit of love

If I was judging the Maharajah on the quality of its food and the waiting staff alone I?d be inclined to give it a 5??.But as a venue it would only score 1 ??Firstly I know our visit was on a Thursday evening and we were the only folks in the restaurant all evening. we were shown to our table in what I can best decried as a cavernous dining hall with absolutely no atmosphere, not even pipped musac the decor was very stark and the lighting hard with an industrial feel. I?m sure if this place was full these issues would be less obvious. What was wrong with flock wallpaper and low level lighting.I?m sorry maharajah but the venue lets you down, although the food was fantastic.
