Stopped for a cold drink and snack on a (long) bike ride. Beautiful pub and really friendly staff who even very kindly filled our water bottles with ice and water. Highly recommended- and we will be back. Thank you.

Never been spoken to so rudely by staff. The manager, Tam, was so rude after dismissing how long we had waited for our food. Initially, we had been told 30 minutes, which would?ve been okay. But by the time we had gotten our food, it had been over an hour and half from ordering. Didn?t expect to be treated so poorly by a manager of all people. The food was decent enough once it arrived however, not worth the wait at all. The young waitresses saved this place, and were so apologetic once they heard about the situation, it?s a shame the same can?t be said for the manager.

Had the most fantastic meal with family and friends. The team here are so friendly and welcoming and we found it hard to leave.
Great drinks and yummy food with outside seating perfect for the current heatwave.

Arranged a 50th birthday party at this location and stayed overnight in The Stable lovely accomadation .This pub is truly amazing food is to die for.The pub itself is steeped in history and the owner and staff are so welcoming,friendly.Nothing is too much trouble.i highly recommend the George and Dragon .

Visited with friends for a meal and evening of jazz music. Food and atmosphere were great. Staff were very friendly and very good service. Jazz band were great and I am not a huge jazz but the band clearly loved the music and performance which was fantastic to see. Great evening all round

Had THE most delicious Sunday lunch today at the George and Dragon! Honestly, one of the best I have had in a very long time. Totally delicious, veggies were perfectly cooked, big portion of cauliflower cheese on the side, tender meat, wonderful gravy, roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings! My daughter had the Veggie roast and loved that too! Great staff, lovely Stevie the staffie, amazing manager who really cares about her guests! Fabulous time and will return again soon ?

A fantastic day yesterday celebrating for a 50th Birthday.
A massive thank you to Julie you were a star helping with the planning & seeing it all ran smoothly on the day.
Also a big thank you to Sophie who also helped out on the day you were a little gem very attentive you will go a long way ??
Food was amazing big shout out to the chefs everyone said how lovely it all was.
Too all the other staff bar staff etc thank you for a great day will will definitely be back to visit

We decided to have an anniversary lunch with the kids, went to the George and dragon. It is such a hidden gem! Beautiful characteristic pub inside with beautiful and well maintained outside area. We had a wonderful lunch, food was incredible and staff are wonderful! Cannot rate this highly enough! Xx

Yesterday we held our Mum?s wake here and all we can say is thank you so much to Julie and the team. Julie went above and beyond from start to finish. She showed us compassion and helped us with decisions that needed to be made and came up with suggestions we may not have thought of.
