Combination - The best food but the worst attitude!
Southwater Kebab, has been a a regular haunt of ours for a long time and definitely offers the best tasting kebabs in the area. A few years back it had a change of ownership, many were concerned that the quality of the food would drop off, but to our relief, the quality remained excellent.
However, as I have experienced on more than one occasion recently, the attitude of the new owners is just appalling! It?s such a shame.
My most recent, and now likely last interaction, was probably the most shocking and so disappointing that they couldn?t fulfil such a small request. I wanted to order the Southwater Special along with a lot of other food, (a few of the lads over for the footie) and they asked of I wanted salad, which we did, but one of us is allergic to onion, so I simply asked if they could please separate the onion, something I have asked from all eating establishments when dining with this particular friend of mine, never an issue, that?s until the chap from SW kebab replied point blank ?NO?. Honestly I though he was joking, but no he wasn?t?. When I dared to ask if he was serious, and even offered to pay for the extra box it?ll cost him to put the onion in he said said I?ve got two options, salad with or without onion or no salad at all. Of course it?s very hard to add the correct context to the way he spoke to me, but trust me, he was aggressive and totally unwavering on his stance not to fulfil this small request, he ended up calling me some name in Turkish, said goodbye and hung up.
I suspect this review will be met with the same passive aggressiveness that all other negative reviews have, rather than owning that they?ve failed a very loyal and regular customer. It is a real shame they opt to have a poor attitude and will not see their errors and just make a small adjustment.
We?ve decided not to use this kebab shop anymore, but perhaps will return in a few months to see if they can swallow their pride, admit they were wrong and work on appreciating their customers more like the previous owners did.
The response from the owners (see below) tries to pin the blame in me! I did not shout or be abusive but the response shows just what sort of person we are dealing with. Tries to deflect rather than accept the situation and change their attitude.

got a large mixed doner meat with chips, spent like a tenna and it was banging, chips are freshly made and its just overall the best kebab ive ever had

Excellent kebabs that are reasonably priced. Delivery is super fast.
Chicken Doner meat is slightly charred and has so much flavour and seasoning. Recommend the homemade sauce as a great addition.
