This is a tricky review to leave! as I don't really want the whole world knowing how exceptional this place is.Not only is it the best Restaurant / Pub locally, it is right up there with the very best in the UK.Food is off the chart good.The staff are all lovely, giving superb service.In summary, it is amazing. Anyone I have recommended (a lot) has absolutely raved about it - rightly so.Shhhh don't tell anyone ?Food & drinks: Phenomenal food!

Had a superb birthday lunch here with friends. Food, as always, is absolutely outstanding, beautifully presented and every morsel is so tasty. We are all foodies so we really appreciate the work that goes into providing such excellent food. Staff are just lovely, very relaxed but formal. Beautifully decorated and so clean. Next time we will be staying !

Real gem, such a naturally warm and friendly atmosphere, excellent food and exemplary service. I?ve not stayed but friends have and say the rooms are heavenly. If you can go, you?ll be sure to them go back.

Only had a beer here but the interior and terraced outside seating was beautifully done.I will refrain from commenting about the food.Walkability: Middle of serious walking country.

A little gem is a cliché, and the White Horse is actually far more than that. Beautifully appointed, elegantly furnished, with wonderful rooms. Outstanding food, great selection of eclectic drinks - try the Pedro Ximenez sherry with cheese - and staff who know what they're talking about, and clearly care.Can't recommend highly enough for a drink, meal or stay.

Fabulous food! Absolutely fist class. A real hidden gem but well worth the effort to find it. Excellent service as well. I can honestly say this was up there with the best food I've ever tasted. Head chef Ben Miller is outstanding. We will be back!

Last night, I was very lucky my wife took me out for dinner for my birthday . It is very pretty old country pub . We will warm you welcome. The service was absolutely spot-on our waiter had a great knowledge of every aspect of the menu, also of the beers, wines and spirits . Really nice to see the wide range of locally sourced seasonal food and drink. The food was exceptional. Will definitely be going here again. It is a hidden gem .

We visited The White Horse in Sutton after a nice walk nearby. We knew this pub from years ago, but how it?s changed. A quick drink turned into very tasty dishes and my Thai chicken and prawn curry was excellent. The service was exemplary, well done White Horse, we look forward to a return visit (after a walk of course).

We arranged a weekend around staying at The White Horse: a visit to Petworth House, dinner at the Inn, B&B and a walk on the stunning South Downs, returning in time for Sunday lunch. Billy and his team could not have been more welcoming and the service is really brilliant, not only at mealtimes (Billy even leant us a map for our walk!). The food is excellent and the rooms have evidently been designed by someone who knows what they want when they stay in a hotel. Every little thing seems to have been thought of. Make a booking. You won't be disappointed.

Amazing food and service. We went for friends birthday, stayed in the Rooms, had dinner and breakfast. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable and the food is sublime. Highly highly recommended

We had a delicious lunch, lovely pub atmosphere. Very helpful staff and can cater for my gf diet. My second visit in just over a week, I highly recommend this pub. The pub is not far from the Pig hotel a chance to try something different from their wide choice menu.

We chose this pub for our Golden Wedding anniversary lunch. Our party totalled 22 people. We ordered our food in advance to facilitate service on the day. Our food was excellent throughout all three courses, well presented and filling. Staff were friendly and attentive throughout. The overall opinion of our group, and we do eat out a lot, was that we could not have chosen anywhere better. Excellent value all round

We visited the White Horse yesterday for lunch. Although we live in a nearby village we had not been there for several years - but had been told by several neighbours that we should go. We had a splendid Sunday lunch. There was a very friendly greeting from the manager, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, efficient and prompt service and excellent food. We will certainly be coming back.

We had a fantastic lunch with very friendly service. Emma also went out of her way to phone us beforehand to warn us of a tree blocking the road which was much appreciated!
