No stars arrived at stonemasons Inn for wedding in Petworth.Had booked 1 year ago.we had had a conformation email one week ago. The inn has been closed for a long time.notice on door saying closed and throughly dirty run down. Good job found another place to stay

BUSINESS IS CLOSED DO NOT USE. Booked 5 rooms with them for our wedding and found out the day before they've been closed for weeks. No common courtesy, bunch of tools. Currently claiming with our bank to get the money back.

Absolutely Appalling. We booked an overnight stay for after a long day at Goodwood Revival then called beforehand to book a dinner reservation. We received an email beforehand to confirm our overnight reservation. We arrived at the pub/hotel to find it was closed. their website is up & running and to top it all have received an email to 'rate my stay' UNBELIEVABLE!

Booked two rooms here back in July. Got an email on Wednesday asking me to confirm we were still coming on Friday (25th Aug) and I confirmed it. We turned up today and found the place closed up. Apparently it was closed down last week so I assume the email was automated. Had paid £250 deposit. The pictures on the website bear no resemblance to the actual state of the building which is a tip! Absolutely disgusted!

We had family down from Gloucester and had gone for a walk around Petworth park,stopped off here for a drink and possibly staying to eat,we entered a were greeted straight away with a hello and big smile,asked if we were eating or just drinking we said possibly both so took menus outside to the garden,Barman (pos landlord) came out and asked if we had decided only as the kitchen was shutting in 10 mins not all of the 6of us had chosen so he came back a few mins later,chose our meals,decided to eat inside so they gave us a lovely big table,meal was absolutely wonderful everyone enjoyed it and had to have pudding even though the kitchen was officially closed we were still catered for. We couldn't recommend this place enough we were made to feel very welcome and not rushed at all and the service was fantastic. It was my partner and mine second time here and we were not disappointed it was just as good as last time. Well done we will be back.

I have frequently stopped at this pub many times on my travels over the last 55 years & stopped there tonight hoping to get a meal thankfully the chap behind the bar said the kitchen was closed so i had a soft drink & went to use the toilet ,i have never seen a more putrid toilet in the UK in my life god knows when it was last cleaned & every wall ledge floor was alive with & crawling with hundreds of insects.Is there a change of management ?

Booked last minute as me and my partner both had work the the area , the landlord ome was extremely helpful. The pub itself was great , food ,service and atmosphere all great, (and nod to Martin in the morning for the superb breakfast) . The room was very comfy , is dated bit dusty but that's what a classic pub is ! Brilliant.

booked a tabel for 6 ,4 days proir to the date. when me and my group arrvived as told not to step on pre premices when asked for a reason i was tould rudely by a staff menber that i know why. who them went back inside slaming locking and baring the enterence. at first we thought that mabey they had to close erly but when we looked inside there where plenty of peopel being served. would not recomend in petworh the star in the center is a good choice for food or if you want food and a bed the welldiggers is a very good choice.

Driven past this pub many times, never stopped before, but today we did. What a lovely welcome by a young man behind the bar, service excellent. Food very nice. Was going to sit outside but shade was minimal. Dog friendly always a plus.. Would call in again.
