Limited number of interesting main courses suggests food freshly prepared. Excellent value at around £16.00 each. 4 of us each chose a different dish, all delicious.
Friendly staff.

Admittedly some years since previously visiting this pub, but it has completely gone downhill. From an atmospheric cosy country pub to a slightly grubby looking bland bar with no atmosphere . Beef sandwich on brown bread ordered as they informed us they didn?t have any ciabatta. which was on the menu. Also ordered salt and pepper squid. The sandwich turned up on soggy white bread with a few pieces of limp lettuce, completely saturated in mayonnaise on both sides of the bread. (no mention of the mayonnaise on the menu). The fries were okay, but slightly overcooked. The squid was breadcrumbed rather than in batter, which is fine had it had any flavour at all - no sign of the Salt and Pepper flavouring! Would strongly advise to walk on past ?..

A Perfect Summer Dining Experience
We had the pleasure of dining at this incredible restaurant on a warm summer?s day, and everything about the experience was flawless. We sat outside, enjoying the beautiful weather and relaxed ambiance ? the setting alone was enough to make the afternoon special.
The food was absolutely superb. Every dish was crafted with care, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. You can truly taste the quality and passion in each bite.
What made it even better was the outstanding service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. They anticipated our needs without being intrusive, and their menu knowledge helped us make excellent choices.
Between the amazing food, impeccable service, and the lovely outdoor setting, this was a five-star experience from start to finish. Can?t wait to return!

Visited here for the first time. Although we visit Petworth frequently. A great place to visit. The pub is under new management and the staff are making every effort to create a friendly and welcoming environment for diners. The ambience is very good. It looks and feels like a well run pub. We had a roast beef Sunday Lunch and rhubarb crumble. The latter was excellent. The roast beef and vegetables were very good. The Yorkshire pudding was deflated and roast potatoes were slightly undercooked and firm. I had a good pint of golden ale. There was a log-burner and the pub was dog-friendly with water bowls and dog treats. We will definitely go back. Inflated yorkshires and softer roast potatoes and it would have been perfect.
Parking: Public paid parking nearby. Very convenient

We had dinner there last night. I had an excellent dish: lamb liver and mash. Delicious, perfectly cooked! My husband had sea bass, very good too. Hearty, reasonable prices. Warm atmosphere. I highly recommend. When we come back to the UK we will make a detour to go back!

Good roast dinner, served with yorkshire pudding, red cabbage, roast potatoes on the plate, with side of cauliflower cheese and steamed carrots, peas, cabbage and broccoli. A nice spot for after walking in Petworth park. Friendly service.
Parking: There is a parking area in the centre of Petworth nearby.

Great food in nice surroundings. The pub was relatively empty when we visited but service was pleasant and friendly. Apparently the current owners only took over a couple of weeks ago and seem to be doing a good job. We will definitely visit again when in the area

Lovely little pub in the town. Food was tasty and fresh, and it took quite a long time to be serve tho. Other than that, everything was good.

Great Sunday lunch, just what was ordered. Delicious Sirloin of beef roast with all the trimmings including cauliflower cheese for only £17 per head. Lovely staff and very attentive!
Kid-friendliness: Kids and families welcome. Larger restaurant area at the back as well as a nice area near the bar.

Nice pub in the center of Petworth. Outside and inside seating and dog friendly. Loads of beer options on draft which was great. Nice service as well the only disappointment was the food, also considering the price of the food. I had the burger which was decent but didn't come with any burger sauce as described in the menu so it was quite dry. We also had ordered the risotto which was average. It also said V, VE on the menu but came coated in normal cheese. Maybe it comes as a vegan option if you ask for it but I assumed if they put V,VE on the menu next to it that implies it's vegetarian/vegan.. I think most places that's the case..
