Overall, a lovely place to dine. I initially sat at the bar and then moved to the restaurant.
I highly recommend the duck bao buns - newly created and added to the menu. Rich in flavour with light and fluffy buns, accompanied with a beautifully spicy sauce.
The restaurant only had a few other customers and was not even half full on a summer Friday night, so it was missing an actively buzzing atmosphere. The staff were pleasant and efficient.

A very odd experience overall. They handled our issue very well, and the main course was actually nice, albeit small portions, otherwise we?d score it lower.
Firstly, we popped in late afternoon to enquire about booking but we were told there was no availability at 7pm, so 7.30pm it was, we arrived to just 6 other people in the entire restaurant and advised we could take our pick from any of 3 available tables. So why 7pm wasn?t an option we don?t know.
A ?Drumstick? Cocktail was ordered but we were then told the man who made the cocktails was starting in about 10 minutes, odd in itself and no other drink was offered in the meantime. Cocktail man arrived but we were told, quite abruptly, he couldn?t make a Drumstick Cocktail and we were presented with a much abridged cocktail list versus that available on their website. My wife opted for a Gin & Lemonade instead, which they managed to get wrong and serve with a tonic. Correcting the mistake a bottle of Sprite was plonked on the table instead. Then came the starters of Lamb Croquettes, which were in fact just fat, literally fat, wrapped in breadcrumbs. We sent these straight back. The bread was overdone slices of sourdough, but at least we got two each, good job really or we?d have left hungry.
The bill was presented with the starters removed and only one main meal charged, so the complaint was well handled, hence 3 stars versus one or two. But overall a very odd and unsatisfactory experience. We won?t be rushing back I?m afraid.

Three of us had a wonderful lunch at East Street Bar and Grill restaurant yesterday. It was a special occasion, as one of us had a special birthday to be celebrated. As the birthday girl was the last to arrive we had the chance to tell Anthony, a most attentive and professional waiter, why we were all there. After a delicious lunch, Anthony arrived with a plate inscribed with her name in chocolate icing, a slice of cake with candles, and a scoop of ice cream.
What a lovely surprise, and so very much appreciated. Thank you Anthony, and thank you East Street.
Should also mention that the Maitre?d, Phillip, is also hugely attentive and professional.
Definitely the place to go in Petworth.

After being recommended highly to visit for dinner my husband and I were really looking forward to our evening. On arrival we were stood waiting for our table until the server abruptly showed us to our table. It was 15 minutes until our drink order was taken, we asked for mezcal margaritas which took a further 15 minutes and I would describe them as tasting like a pre mix from a can. By then we?d been seated for 30 minutes before our starters & mains order was taken, again it felt rushed and hurried. Our table was sat close the kitchen where we could hear the bell ringing impatiently and calls ?service!? It was clear then the serving team were understaffed but at this point there was no acknowledgment of that by our server, unfortunately he?d totally lost any professionalism and it made the room uncomfortable. Sat opposite us were a couple who were served 2 Ox tail incorrectly, 25 minutes later there correct orders arrived.
The food though was good - oysters, Ox tail, rib eye and the croquette was delicious but sadly the poor margarita left an acidic taste + the frantic atmosphere overshadowed the experience. We ordered a glass of sparkling wine & beer, these were forgotten but taken off the bill when my husband had to go up to the bar. Service charge was left on the bill though at 15%. It?s a real shame as the establishment is gorgeous and has great potential for a pleasant evening with a loved one or friends.

Anthony and Phillip are the most accommodating persons I've ever met. I would return just on their service alone with care for our dog and baby. Food is also perfect but you don't get to see the cook.
Booked my next visit already! I will stress they are just as amazing when busy and I would suggest more staff support for them. Only a friendly suggestion xx

Service was poor. Staff were not friendly and our meal took just over 1.5 hrs to arrive. Seats were dirty and we felt overlooked compared to larger parties.

Great food and atmosphere. Service was quite the opposite. I had a waitress wearing gym clothes asked me from two tables away whether I wanted bread and as I was thinking about it because I have gluten intolerance and my partner wasn?t sure she impatiently said it?s included with the food. How come you invest so much in a good chef and great atmosphere yet you fail in the service which is as important as the food

Food was outstanding except my steak was a tad too salty. Everything else was sublime. The front of house team were amazing. Great service, friendly staff and a special mention to Ant who was brilliant.

Beat place to eat around petworth out of the hungry guest establments this is far the best , food is always nice and a pleasant atmosphere, great cocktails and the baked Alaska has a place on any desert menu , lighting a bit bright as of late used to love the cosy feel felt a bit bright in ther last te but that's my only dig great place to eat
