Amazing curry, one of the best saag paneer I?ve had. The apricot curry was offered mild too, despite the heat of the summer. So overall they were extremely accommodating, staff were very friendly. Will return again.

I would rate the food 6/5 if I could. A mix of classics and regional dishes - we finished every bite. We will return when next nearby, encourage you to visit too!

Charming restaurant with friendly staff. Extensive menu with unusual specials and classic dishes. Delicious and carefully prepared. Highly recommend and would love to visit again. Shared mixed starters, then enjoyed damask lamb, padang chicken with peshawar nan and pilau rice. Also had Kingfisher zero, a great discovery.
Good value.

We were so glad we happened across Basmati in Petworth. We descended into a cool old bunker with interesting art on the walls. The wait staff was very friendly and patient with us. We all enjoyed our meals. I ordered a signature dish that I cannot find on their online menu, but it was the best Indian dish I've ever had. Maybe "Kaddu" something? Lamb and sweet pumpkin. Soooo good. Saag paneer and the aubergine sides were also well liked at our table.
Dietary restrictions: Our son has a nut allergy. The wait staff was very patient and accommodating to point out dishes that would not have nuts and put our son at ease. He enjoyed the tandoori butter chicken.

Lovely restaurant. Indian food was much better than anything I have found home in London. The owner was so kind and attentive and the food was incredible. Could not recommend more ! Particularly impressed with the bhaji, butter chicken and daal, but you can?t go wrong with any of the dishes.

I visited this restaurant on the 31st January for an early dinner and enjoyed an excellent meal. I started with the Aloo Chat which I thoroughly enjoyed and followed on with a selection I can not remember but consisted of chicken and lamb in an sauce that was claimed to be inspired from arabic influences into India. Irrespective of its origins, I can say that it was an excellent dish, well cooked, nicely presented and which I would be pleased to enjoy again. The staff were very friendly, helpful and clearly knew their menu well. If in the area, well worth the visit.Parking: Car park is about 150m away. It is free after 6:30pm and not expensive before then. The area is quiet and there is negligible risk to your car.Kid-friendliness: Whilst I visited by myself, there were families with children present and it was clear that the staff had no problem in accommodating the needs of these children.Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is not accessible as it is in a basement only accessed by a staircase. I am unaware of any lift. Further the floor is uneven within the restaurant.
