Loved the table to the right of the fire. Pork was delicious but think the lamb was overdone when we asked for it to be pink. Delicious desserts. Lovely ambience and delightful waitresses.

Excellent location, great outside ding area/beer garden. Inside full of character. Very good staff, (with a sense of humour), menu - varied choice, wellcooked and presented, beers/ciders many any varied.I often return, on well established walking routes close to the old Petworth train station converted to hotel/ B&B.

Really enjoyed badgers, shame they weren't serving food the time we were there so can't review that but the bar was lovely, beautiful fires and friendly staff.

My husband took me here for my birthday dinner & I had the tapas squid ? for starters followed by the pheasant & omg totally delicious , pheasant itself cooked perfectly & the veg to perfection. My husband has tapas also , prawns & bacon & cheese croquette . The croquettes were just ok, possibly more bacon & potatoes & make bacon crispy. Mains he had the chicken madras curry which really had no flavour what do ever, disappointing. Perhaps the curry needs a bit more attention. Over all staff very polite & friendly as were the locals. I would recommend this charming pub most definitely & will return.

After visiting Petworth House on Friday we had lunch at Badgers and we were very glad we did. Lovely welcoming staff and delicious food with all the usual favourites plus a number of Spanish inspired options. I had the Zarzuela, a spiced seafood stew which was fab. The Apple pie and custard was great too! Interesting range of art on the walls including a booth with a risqué triptych. Would definitely come back when in the area.

First time here, food started off well, nicely presented, with beautifully soft bread. The only let down was the "crumble" which was more soup based than actual crumble. Otherwise, a reasonable country pub.

Felt like unless your a local your not welcome. Considering we spent a lot of money the staff were very rather unwelcoming towards us. There was a nice looking garden however the lighting was poor and it seemed there was a river going round it but worryingly no warning sign and a bit of a drop with no lighting at the end I do worry if someone could fall in. A real shame as it is a lovely located pub so has great potential!

A scrumptious meal with a large group of friends. We nearly filled the pub and received a very warm welcome. Thank you so much. May have been so busy chatting that I forgot to take a photo f the main course but it was yummy!!

Mortified that even after ordering my food as gf they totally disregarded that and brought me out scallops covered in croutons ( non gf ) when I told them what happened they took food back to the kitchen and just removed the croutons ( clearly chef knows nothing of cross contamination ) so not only did they bring me back cold scallops but they failed to remove all the croutons , then to add insult to injury management dissappeard and sent a young waitress who was also embarrassed by the whole thing bless her , probably the only decent thing about the whole experience was the great customer service from said waitress , in a nutshell I spent the night throwing up after tasting the food and honestly I'm mortified that a establishment like this has a serious disregard to a very serious allergy, never going back , disgusted

Wonderful pub/restaurant offering gourmet, exquisite meals. The Zarzuela, (Spanish version of bouillabaisse) was scrumptious. My friend had the Kedgeree, which was also delicious. Delightful ambiance, first class and friendly service. A great find and I'm certain to return. Thank you

We walked in and purchased two drinks and went to find a place sit down. We were ashered away to the other side of the room, to a smaller room/cove. The wooden tables looked bleached white and looked clean. However they were sticky and flet like they needed a good clean. The staff seemed uncaring. A lady who was sat, at the bar. Possibly the landlady. Made no attention to move for my partner. Who was struggling to get by using her crutch. However on a good note. Other people seemed to have good communication with each other. From the sounds of there chatting sounded like local users to the place.
