Archetypal British pub. Run by a lovely gentleman who has been there for 42 years. A first class pint of real ale and a good Sunday roast. The landlord is standing down soon and family are taking over.Food & drinks: Both good

Dating from the 15th century, this quirky pub is renowned for the eclectic mix of artifacts on the walls and ceiling. Almost every square inch is covered. The landord in 1775 played cricket for England. Only one ale on tap when I visited, but it was good. Limited menu. Friendly landlord. Small outside seating area and car park.

Great traditional pub with good food and a friendly host. Nice walks nearby. Dog friendly. Can stay overnight in a campervan if you phone ahead to check on space.

Lovely quirky cosy old pub in a pretty village setting. Really lovely people, family run, definitely will visit again. Dog and child friendly. Delicious and plentiful food and good selection of drinks. I had the texas chilli which had a nice kick to it, and my husband had chips, which are big, chunky and delicious! They have occasional live music, which is why we were there, it is small but plenty of seating and most people can see the band. Not too loud either, so ears are OK.Because it is old, floor levels are a bit up and down, and quite a few steps about, so don't get too drunk, but if you do, you can blame the floor? The place is kept very clean even with all the items on display and its age.Plenty of car parking, and they welcome coaches. Quite a few footpaths pass close by for walkers. Lovely!

We went in for a lunch, we order Steak and kidney pie, When it came it was absolutely delicious. Could not fault it we both said we liked it and we would be back and we will. Very old-fashioned pub and it's good to see. The pub had a good atmosphere and it was very interesting inside. We had a beer each and it was excellent could not fault it. Well done.

Beautiful old building in a lovely village. The friendly landlord kindly allowed us to park our campervan in the car park overnight. We enjoyed a meal in the pub - very reasonable prices indeed. Next day we had a good home cooked Sunday lunch. Our campervan developed a roof leak in pouring rain and the landlord allowed us to use his silicone to stop it. Thank you - that was so helpful.

Really gorgeous pub with genuine, feel-good vibes. Friendly hospitable barman this Sunday visit. Loads to look at around this establishment. Quirky and fun. I'm sure a lock-in would be the highlight of the month! Ample parking and clean WCs. Next time we'll try a meal.

Completely empty despite it being a bank holiday. Food was rudimentary at best. Sandwiches ok but side salad was chunky and poor. Sausages blackened either side but at least they were cooked through. One bottle of beer and a Fentimans ginger beer and I was charged £10? Not likely to return, to be honest and understand why it was empty now.
