The ambiance and the food were fine but the prices are truly unbelievable; £42 per person for 'Afternoon Tea' - quite ridiculous and a rip-off, which can't possibly be justified..

Amazing Spa' Afternoon Tea experience at Bailiffscourt hotel. So well looked after by Joe Carter the Spa Manager and hotel team. If you haven't already been to Bailiffscourt hotel and spa, it is a must! The spa is a peaceful haven on the Sussex coast with indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub as well as excellent therapists. The afternoon tea was really special, having experienced afternoon tea at the Ritz, we can say this is comparable and the added warm medieval surroundings are a standout experience. If you're considering this for a special treat, you've definitely found the place to impress and relax in your own virtually private space.A heartfelt thank you to Joe and the team, you have all been amazing. All the best Sandra Richardson and Nathanael Ciccone ????Walkability: Gorgeous walks down to Climping beachFood & drinks: Superb quality and levels of service here ?

Our favourite place to go and relax. We got married here a few years ago, our special place to unwind. We try and come back 4 or more times a year. Lovely grounds and a short walk to the sea. The food is consistently amazing, as good as any 5 star in London. What?s also special is that it is really unpretentious, service is quietly perfect. We?ve got to know some of the team over the years - they are all great, Chris, the manager is excellent and always around for a chat. Can?t fault this place!

The phrase "hidden gem" is overused but is totally applicable here! A beautiful hotel in a lovely, quiet location. Brilliant staff. Comfortable room. The spa was excellent. The aesthetic was wonderful and I would certainly recommend reading up on the history of the site, which is provided in the rooms. There were a couple of part of dinner which weren't perfect, but generally the breakfast and dinner we did have was very good.It is quite pricey but you get what you pay for!

I personally found the vegetarian breakfast Misley, in all of the hotels that I have stayed over the last 25 to 30 years this vegetarian breakfast had to be the least of all unimaginably under par.One frozen sausage, small scrambled egg amount, small mushrooms head with a tomato on it small eggcup of beans @ £ 17.00 plus service charge takes it to around £20.00 .I will try tomorrow to see if things improve nut if I was here on my own I would leave.Rooms: Bed was hard, quilt for winter was thin, room no central heating so electric plug in radiator and a fan heater that dried your skin out har to sleep with either on.Facilities !! No sewing kit. No pencil or pad for note's, no radio or clock, no mirror in room to do makeup only a full sized. Mirror in bathroom. No chest of drawers to put two people's clothes away just 3 bucket drawers.

Visited the spa on an afternoon tea and spa experience. It is very well appointed and feels like a real treat. The swimming pools are lovely and we enjoyed all of the facilities as well as a good back massage. The afternoon tea was wonderful and a lovely end to our day.

90th Birthday afternoon tea for my fiancées mum. Lovely historic building dating to medieval times. Staff great and the food only downside was 12% extra charge we were not made aware of before paying .

I booked a high tea for myself and my wife for Sunday just gone. Now the place itself is lovely but...... After deciding which pot of tea we wanted I eagerly awaited the food. What came out was a bit of a shock to me. 4 finger sandwiches which were made with cheaper ingredients than a kids party. Next up the scones...dry . Then a few tiny cakes which were ok but mostly very sickly. We ordered another cup of tea to try and stay a little longer to make it worth it . Upon leaving I went to reception to pay and I was then brutally hit with the bill for £98. Now I don't mind paying for quality etc but I've had better food at the flying fortress for a kids birthday party . And that's saying something. All in all if you don't mind being bent over after eating £5 worth of food then go for itFood & drinks: Terrible

Beautiful buildings, tastefully decorated, intimate setting, excellent food, close to long pebbly beaches, with a very good spa and pools. Long walks through parkland. We have been coming here for 33 years, and a recent visit it was just as good as ever. The main house has been restored, using ancient parts of reclaimed buildings, and adjoining buildings offer privacy and space, set in acres of gardens. The main courtyard in summer is a lovely tranquil place for breakfast and lunch. Open fires, soft lounges, you feel like its home but someone else is doing the work. Two swimming pools, inside and outside with the spa and a gym. Restaurant offers snacks through the day, but the lunch and dinner menus offer a high standard. Breakfasts offer everything from tea and coffee to a full blown English Breakfast- one of those and Id challenge you to need lunch! Wine starts at £38. If you don't want to use the spa or pools, ask for a price without. Dog friendly.
