I came here many years ago when the previous owners had it and it made me really sad the pub was not living up to it's full potential, I live in Buckinghamshire and visit friends in Brighton twice a year - we ended up driving to the Greyhound and the new owners have just turned the place around night and day - it far exceeded what I even thought the pubs potential was - it's great when it is sunny, when it rains, cold days, hot days - so now I make a point of going there twice a year every time I visit Sussex. I laughed at a 1 star review on here when I read it, then realised it was one of those lunatics that moves next door to a pub and then complains about living next to a pub! Cheers to many more years - it's great to see pubs like this thriving so many are closing down.

Looked like a pub on the outside, but turns out they only serve milkshakes. Brilliant selection of large sweet and savoury shakes.

I have loved the hospitality in the Greyhound since Simon /Josie and took over. Its become the hub for many activities locals and visitors can enjoy. Many local and national charities have benefitted from their events they have held. The latest being loads of gold tinsel etc decorating the pub supporting and raising money for Hassocks goes gold.Keep up your enthusiasm Simon, your positive attitude brightens Hassocks

Vibrant local pub that does excellent pub food. Bank holiday weekend was a brilliant community event ranging from live music to Hawaii barbecue, fun runs, raffles and sea shanties. Loads of money raised for charity. Thank you and well done!

I have moved next door to this pub, I have done my due dilligence, I have engaged with regulars, and appreciate how important this pub is in the community.
Recently there has been a bank holiday weekend where they were raising money for breast cancer and teenage cancer trust, which went down a storm with people who want a local pub where everyone is welcome, no matter who you are.
There is a lovely church opposite, that wakes me in the morning ringing it?s bells, it comes with territory, I won?t be complaining about bells?

We were a group of 15 for lunch, each of whom pre-ordered something different. Despite several last minute changes, the staff coped admirably. All the food arrived at the table very quickly, all perfectly cooked and delicious.
The serving staff were excellent and the meals were superb value for money. We'll come again!

Fantastic meal on Saturday in great pub with a really good atmosphere. The guest performers that we heard were excellent, a saxophone player followed by a Samba Drum band. Very entertaining! Keep it up, Simon & co. You're really making the Greyhound the place to be in Hassocks.
