My wife and I had an anniversary dinner at The Fig Tree last night, and it was smashing. We both had the tasting menu. The food was creative and excellent, and the service superb. And it's unpretentious -- just simply excellent. The best value for money Michelin star restaurant I have found in the UK.

a first lunchtime visit to a High Street location where you can feel part of the life in what is a large, pretty village. The set menu food was fabulous, beautifully presented - and the service friendly and professional. I'd book out of politeness (just so a small restaurant knows you are coming), and leave enough time for parking in the slightly hidden free public car park to the north of the High Street if visiting in the day, so you don't arrive flustered. You won't have enough time for dining if using the spaces along the street (at lunchtime).

We visited as a family group for a 30th birthday celebration and we enjoyed a truly excellent lunch.
The restaurant has a light and airy feel and the tables are very well spaced so it does not feel at all cramped. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was outstanding in both presentation and flavour and we all left feeling very happy and satisfied.
Highly recommended for a memorable special occasion.

Once again an excellent service.
We had the 6 course taster menu with a wine flight. If you want locally sourced food, this is a great restaurant to visit with a lot of thought put in to the courses.
Been here half a dozen times now and the service is exceptional.
I shall be back and thank the team at the Fig Tree for keeping it special.

What an incredible experience we had at this restaurant! My husband and I came for the first time this month to treat ourselves for our anniversary. We had high expectations based on the positive reviews and it didn't disappoint at all. Every single dish we had was so good and well presented. I had the 3 course menu and my husband the 6 courses tasting menu. We tried a bit of everything: fish and lobster, meat, veggies and cheese, desserts. It's hard to pick my favorite dish as everything was beyond delicious. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service was attentive and very welcoming. At the end of our meal they even offered us 2 macaroons and 2 chocolate truffles because they knew it was our special day. Excellent value considering the experience. We can't wait to go back!

Went here with a group of 25. Had the tasting menu with the wine flight. Food and drink were stunning. All of the 6 courses were well constructed and delightful. The selection of wine matched the food perfectly. I cannot fault the afternoon. Service was attentive and also informative. We will be going back later in the year .
