Visited Horsham store on Sunday and was assisted by a lovely staff member, YVETTE. She was so good, she found the exact item we were looking for, we thought was out of stock, and thanks to Yvette it was a very pleasant experience. She is an asset to The Works. All round top notch!

An absolutely AWFUL experience in the Horsham Store with an aggressive member of staff who barged into a private conversation I was having with my young children about what gifts to buy for the 4 year old girls and 4 year old boys coming to a party we were having for our own 4 year old daughter. The staff member for some reason felt it necessary to push the gender neutral notion on to me and my children by telling me the items we were looking at weren't for girls or boys, but were gender neutral - this was firstly none of his business, but secondly, he was so rude and bull-ish that I felt quite overwhelmed. He continued to push the point when I made it clear I wanted to continue having a private conversation with my children. I have since had to fend off questions from my 8 year old about what it means to be gender neutral. This man had absolutely no right to interrupt a private conversation, especially in such an aggressive way, and about what is basically a political point

I have recently purchased 40 of the bargain books as graduation gifts
for our preschool leavers. At £10 for 10 books when funds are low seemed
perfect. However 18 of the books have the price sticker impossible to
remove. Stickers cover title of book and even some stickers that have come off have left a sticky residue.
Returning back to the works to ask if they have any without stickers I was told no.
I was also told that they were aware of the problem so why was I not told when I purchased them?..

Shame they don't have a catalogue for those who can't get to the store or online. Lots of stuff packed in after their reorganisation.Browsing fiction books tricky sine staff need to get in and out from behunf the sales desk.Friendly service, though.
