Went for a special occasion on a sat pm and the service was terrible. We had booked well advance. Main courses all arrived at different times and some people had already finished before others got their meals. Some of the pizzas were cold and burnt. One child had to wait until the end. Side dishes were brought out after people had finished mains. Worst part about the experience were people queueing out the door and people waiting for their table right next to us and talking very loudly. Ruined the ambience for us.

Worst experience ever. Took 20 minutes to seat us and we booked a table, were just stood in the doorway. Got seated upstairs and there was no one in our section. Sat for 45 minutes with servers walking past and no one came to even take our drink orders or acknowledge us. Left after over an hour in there with no drinks no food, nothing. Appalling.

Don't know the name but he is italian, short and dark hair not from that brunch, he was the only one working inside the restaurant while young waitresses ignoring the costumers and not very helpfull. Cheers to that man that had all on his shoulders and still managed to take care of all the costumers

We have just been for our son's 9th birthday pizza making party which was absolutely fantastic! A big shout out and thanks to Salvatore for his warm welcome, enthusiasm, friendliness and captivating conversation with 14 nine year olds, even getting them to listen and take part in the history lessson! Salva taught them about the ingredients, the history behind the margherita and helped show them the techniques needed for pizza making!! The kids had their own aprons and hats making them all look like the perfect pizza chefs. Plenty of fresh ingredients so that all the kids could make whatever they wanted before sitting down to a 3 course meal including their own hand made pizza for lunch!! Would highly recommend this for a children's birthday party and in particular the Horsham branch. Grazie mille Salvatore, perfetto!!

I just had an amazing lunch. Had the pleasure of being waited on by Isabella and salvotorie the manager a genuine Italian ! Ciao he convinced me to upgrade to a romano pizza wow so much nicer larger and flatter crust and finished off with a dolcetti and biscoff cheesecake yummy. The place was super clean and staff super friendly. Also I just don?t know why the recent negative reviews this is pizza express great food and the best prices. Not the Ritz Carlton or some over price tosh. Well worth it if you are on a budget. And not need a bank loan Gracie a milli

Booked a table for midday and arrived promptly. Only a few people dining. Waited a while to be seen. Eventually a waiter showed us to a table that was dark and squashed in very close to another table with customers. Absolutely no communication from the waiter. After waiting a while we asked to move to a lighter table with more room. The waiter grunted and seemed to allow this. Still no communication, offer of drinks, explanation of ordering on the App or otherwise. After 25 minutes of no communication whatsoever we got up and left. This is stark contrast to the last time we visited when a different waiter was very pleasant, offered us a choice of tables, explained how to order on the App etc etc and generally provided good customer service. We will not be returning, the current service is appalling!!

Excellent service and super friendly welcome from a young girl serving at lunchtime today. She was very friendly and helpful and made such a difference. Food arrived very quickly and we made use of the pizza for £1 offer.

Highly recommend this particular pizza express. Service and food very good. My husband, son and I went for an early dinner there on Saturday and all had great meals. A special mention goes to Sachin the manager who is always very friendly and attentive and a real asset to the restaurant. In addition our waitress Pia was super and really helped along with Sachin to make our evening out a lovely one.

Turned up at 8:37 on a Thursday evening, there were a fair few patrons in the establishment, some further into the meal than others. Two ladies serving, we were ignored several times before one finally plucked up the courage to address us, she asked if we had a booking and to her we politely responded, no we do not. To our surprise, two entire hours before they advertise closure, her response was ?sorry we?re not taking any walk ins? with absolutely no other explanation offered. The restaurant was maybe at 1/3rd capacity, with absolutely no reason to be turned away. Clearly pizza express are doing far too well to consider patrons in this economic crisis.

Have been to this restaurant a few times before. Usually pretty slow but not terrible. This time was very poor though.
We had booked and arrived bang on time for our booking. Waited 50 minutes for drinks. Our starters actually arrived before the drinks, even though we ordered drinks first.
Cold dough balls to start.
My wife ordered two sides for her main. One a standard mac & cheese. But they served one with chorizo in (a different menu item). Which wasn't what was ordered and even worse given she is a vegetarian. Even more frustrating that the waitress read the order back to us when ordering and it was fine. However we asked what had happened and we were told it was what we ordered, as if it was our fault.
My pizza was barely warm by the time it got to the table too.
Pretty fed up by this point so asked to speak to the manager.
Waited another 20 minutes for my wife's replacement mac & cheese. I had finished my pizza by then.
The manager then turned up whilst my wife was eating (why not just come straight away or wait until finished eating). Proceeded to go on the defensive before we even said anything at all! Told us to complain to head office. Kept leaning over the table and talking in a raised voice. He was so rude I just asked him to leave us in peace as he was actually just making us feel uncomfortable.
A shame as he could have just said something like 'really sorry, will take the mac & cheese off the bill, here's a free diet coke for your wait' and we'd have been fine. Instead here I am writing this review and a restaurant we'll never go back too.
A shame as we usually love Pizza Express and it's a usual go to choice for us, wherever we go. Would recommend nearby Ask in Horsham, much better.
