Just spent a pleasant evening exploring Woods Mill Nature Reserve. If you like a quiet place to wander and be at one with nature, this is a good place to start. The only negative thing is the lake is very overcrowded with vegetation, so limited viewing of water, especially with the lack of rain of late. Still a very nice location in some beautiful countryside.

Woods Mill is a lovely reserve in sussex. It's small enough to walk around in about an hour but you'll want to stay much longer! It has a wide variety of birds and wildlife all year round. The bird feeders are out until April so plenty of opportunity to spot a whole host of seasonal birds. It has reed beds and a large pond and stream running through it. The little woodland walk is beautiful with and a haven for wildflowers. There are picnic tables and benches dotted around and toilets and ample parking. The reserve never closes .No dogs allowed.Appeals to the novice and experienced birder and family friendly. Not all parts are accessible to wheelchair users as the meadows and fields can be boggy in places.I would highly recommend woods mill to all and sussex wildlife trusts management is excellent!

I've been many times to Woods Mill and it's one of my favourite places over the past 4 or 5 years. This was the first time with my girlfriend and her dog. Unfortunately when we got all ready to walk round we suddenly saw the sign for no dogs. Sadly we had to leave and find somewhere more dog friendly. Such a shame but we will be returning on Monday evening for the new members evening welcome. (Dog excluded).

This nature reserve is the headquarters of the Sussex Wildlife Trust. There are maps of the reserve at the entrance showing hard paths and grass paths. Many birds can be heard and seen plus insects and seasonal vegetation.Restrooms: Toilets available in the free car park.

Great wildlife experience. Good parking and toilet facilities. Stroll around the lake and hardened accessible paths. Catch the wildlife in this wonderful natural habitat. Free access.

Free entry to the grounds. First went here about 30 years ago on a school trip.Small car park. No dogs allowed which is really welcoming. So many places you have to be careful with where you tread and what the kids are doing. If it's rained heavily, limited to the upper bank but still worth going if you're into nature. Myself and my oldest had great fun visiting recently just seeing the flood water.Very educational seeing as wee went there a couple of weeks before and seeing just how much water comes down. Teaching my oldest what to look for to identify the difference in a footpath under water and a stream. Seeing ducks swimming up footpaths.Picnic area: Small patch of grass next to building
