Lovely pub in beautiful surroundings. Good selection of craft beers, cider etc. It's just a shame it's such a trek back up the hill to Devil's Dyke!

Great pub great views super lovely staff and great local drink/beer/cider selection - served by the super friendly and helpful Sunaan (hope I spelt that right!).
We will be back to try their delicious food!

I?m a local to the pub, and I have had many a great meal.
I ordered the megane sausage salad served on a flat bread.
The non homemade flat bread, came cold with an over load of packaged hummus. A small wilted Greek salad over a dollop of tzatziki . The sausage was standard.
The value of this meal and service was disappointing to say the least.
I will not be rushing back or recommending in the near future.

After a long walk, this pub was exactly what I needed. I had a lovely Pimm?s (with lots of fresh fruit!) and the harissa hummus was simply superb! Probably the best dish I?ve ever had. It was a lovely atmosphere and I enjoyed my lunch.

The Shepherd & Dog is a charming countryside pub with a picturesque setting in Fulking. There?s plenty of space both indoors and out, with a large terrace and garden area that's perfect for sunny days. If you?re planning to eat inside, it?s worth booking ahead, as tables can fill up quickly.
The food was decent, though not particularly memorable, good for a casual meal but not quite hitting the mark for those looking for something special. Still, the relaxed atmosphere and beautiful surroundings make it a pleasant spot for a drink or a laid-back lunch.
I paid my sunday roast and half pint £23
There's a small parking but arrive in advance

After a long hard day walking the South Downs Way, we were treated to a wonderful meal, full of flavour with a focus on local produce.

OK, positives are a bit special because it's set down country lane, has spring flowing past beer garden and you can walk to devils dyke in 20 minutes. Unfortunately the Sunday roast beef was tough and you had to go the bar to order a drink and pick it up. That said the bill didn't include tip. A great pub that doesn't have to try, and perhaps it knows that. Book in advance.

The best sunday roast in Sussex.
Overall nice food, service and very good staff.
The restaurant is very cozy, also it has a huge garden and several outside tables.

Excellent food, service and setting. Love this pub and great too if you're on a gluten free diet.
