I really like this treasure cave in the town ..it's got something for every taste..today 7/12-22 I got a Naples marble Saint Christopher plaque a cranberry glass grog cup and silvered holder and a macho crystal inkwell that'll put away a pint of school-indigo ink..fantastic9/12 2022I'm adding to my review because yesterday I toured the shop and bought a 19c queen's model brass-steel gilded music stool upholstered in buttoned wine velvet..it's magical and very ergonomic..though I broke a string of my chinese fiddle erhu ?? - I got a leathered desk-blotter amazingly tooled and possibly French and lastly a Christmas tree angel..The antique shop owner is tremendously knowledgeable and a great asset to our town .. very respected too in antique trader circles..lastly I'm badgering the owner to get up to speed on social media..24 February 2023Awesome Asprey Correspondence Casemalachite Moroccan hide impeccably craftedsaddle soap and neutral wax to freshen ..beautiful to carryperfectly poised to write at anywhere with Shepherds Bookbinders Correspondence stationeryThanks Debbie10 March 2023This stunning Georgian art box from Henfield Antiques

Great little antiques store and one of the best locally in Sussex. From beautiful chandeliers, glassware and eccentricities, there's always some lovely items here.

Henfield Antiques and Homes is a shop dedicated to antiques for the sake of ornament and decor. This isn't the kind of place to go looking for a 16th century grandfather clock or a Chippendale side table but for those of us who enjoy dressing our houses out in the Victorian rural style this is just the kind of scullery maid's den that we need to inspire us. It goes without saying that a place like this, in Henfield is going to be fairly pricey, but run by such a helpful lady and with such well thought out displays and stock the prices actually start to seem reasonable. While I was there browsing the selection of stripped wooden dressers, bathed as they always seem to be in a gold or perhaps biscuit coloured light, I came upon a set of wooden chests that could easily make for the centre point of any room. I cautiously turned the price tag to find that they were on sale at comparatively cheap sixty five pounds. That's not where the reasonable and entirely functional finds stop either, they also sell old table cloths and bed linen on a set of shelves at the back of the store for about eight pounds a set. In fact in terms of this place being useful I don't think you really have to even buy an actual physical item from here. The place itself can serve as an inspiration and with such a pleasant lady running the place I get the feeling that advice and guidance are available from Henfield Antiques in vast quantities.
