Lovely building, the main staircase is fabulous. Room was a bit small but it was spotless and the staff were polite if a bit condescending.Rooms: Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of my room, but it was spotless. Great ensuite with lovely toiletries and the shower was really powerful. The hot drinks tray was well loaded with great choice including hot chocolate and a choice of biscuits too. Room service choice was limited after a certain time, but the employee that I dealt with was so helpful and the food was plentiful and tasted great.

First time at this hotel. Stayed for 2 nights. Immaculate throughout, staff very very attentive and friendly. Hotel was a good size, rooms were lovely and clean. Lots of parking. Breakfast was superb. Will definitely stay there again, really good value for money.

Room and bathroom a decent size but they must have had a recent leak/flood somewhere as the smell in the bathroom was awful and the glade plug in was never going to hide it!

Had a very enjoyable 1 night stay here. The room was great, very clean, comfortable bed, nice bathroom with a great shower/bath set up. Free coffee and tea in the room.Had breakfast in the morning, free with the room. This was very good. Full English and Continental too. The cooked breakfast was all hot and well cooked.The staff in the hotel were very helpful and approachable. Would definitely stay here again.

We did one night stay 30th October 2023 this hotel is central to the town centre it is a beautiful place to stay the food was very good and the service exemplary, the staff were very welcoming the rooms are so comfortable great size beds we will be visiting again next summer.

Very nice old country house hotel. Very clean and well kept. Rooms of decent size with good facilities decent comfortable beds and good size en suite bathrooms.Didn't eat there but the smells and appreciative noises coming from the dining room at breakfast seems to indicate good quality.

Nice hotel - Bad experience.My wife and I stayed at the Birch on Saturday 2nd September whilst visiting old friends in an area where we used to live. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive.Unfortunately our stay was ruined by a drunken wedding party. Noisy children running up and down the hallway outside our room and drunken adults shouting, crying and arguing directly outside the window of our room - no more than six feet from the window until the early hours of Sunday morning. I eventually ran out of patience, having banged on the window and asked for some peace and quiet. I telephoned Reception and the young man on duty went outside and persuaded the very noisy, inconsiderate wedding guests to quieten down and go to their rooms.A great shame. A lovely weekend ruined by inconsiderate drunken idiots.
