Was slightly disappointed that it was a short experience. There is only one large tent housing butterflies so doesn't take long to go round seeing them. After that there's nothing else to do. There is another tent where there are colouring pens and paper, but no one there to lead or encourage children to get involved. Strange as there were 2 staff members welcoming people where it's a 1 person task. We were told that a bug lady is sometimes there, but not there on the day we went so seems cheeky that we had to pay full price and not get the full experience. It's a one time experience.

Went back for a second visit over the Christmas break after visiting in the summer. The butterflies were fantastic to watch flit about the enclosure and just as interesting second time around. There were plenty of staff on site who were super helpful. The cafe was wonderful and we had a fantastic chat with the gentleman running it as well as an excellent cup of tea and sausage roll! A fantastic day out for any family!

We visited as a family at the end of December and had a lovely time and experience! The butterflies are enchanting, flying around, landing on visitors and delighted little children. The entrance price is very reasonable given that you can enter and exit the butterfly enclosure as many times as you want. The staff are lovely and very welcoming. The reason for four stars is that the cafe area is rather small (though the food looked lovely; we didn?t eat) and a miniature railway was a bit underwhelming. Overall would highly recommend as a lovely outing especially with young children.

Awesome experience walking with the butterfly's. Little smaller than expected, and a couple more benches in with the butterfly's would be a bonus. Overall it was a lovely place to visit, the young lad at the reception couldn't be any more helpfully and friendly. He was very knowledgeable aswell. 5 stars to him! Would highly recommend this place

We had our son's 6th birthday here and it was fantastic.
Great value, loads of butterflies and most of all, an attentive, knowledgeable and extremely helpful team who made all the difference!
Would highly recommend a visit, it's also lovely and toasty with great heating in both the bug hut and butterfly area.
The bug handling was intriguing and organised with such care.

Had a wonderful time here at the Butterfly Farm. Lots of beautiful butterflies and you can go in and out as many times as you like.
It?s quite hot inside so you might need to cool down.
We also visited the bug house and were shown many large insects like a tarantula giant snails and large stick insects by Zara who was very patient with my grandson who has a great love of all creepy crawlers.
There were activities here available but we really wanted to go into the butterfly house.
We also had a few turns on the small railway here which was fun.
All the staff here are really friendly and enthusiastic and happy to help with any query.

An amazing experience had by myself and my granddaughters! My aged 4 & 2 year old granddaughters absolutely lit up having butterflies land on them and fluttering around them. Seeing the cocoons on the branches was amazing as well. Such an amazing price for a fab experience as we were able to go in and out as many times as we liked. The little cafe on site was really reasonable as well, we had two ice creams, a fizzy pop and pastie for little over £7! Then we also had 2 rounds on the train track for a couple of pound each which was thoroughly enjoyed by the girls. Was a thoroughly lovely day out that was just finished off by the friendly staff who we found out were the family that run the farm. Would highly recommend a visit for good old fashioned day out!

The staff were so friendly and helpful! The little train was a lovely little touch for the girls to enjoy too! We will be coming back soon! Thank you so much!!

The kids loved the butterflies, was a unique experience.
There were so many butterflies landing on my dress!
Inside is very hot, make sure you are wearing something cool.
The parking is free. There isn?t anything else there besides a small shop where you can buy souvenirs and some snacks.
You can go in and out as many times as you like.

Absolutely lovely. Lots and lots to see. Beautiful butterflies that will quite happily land on you. Such a nice experience. Reasonable entrance fee too. Thank you for a great visit. Staff friendly and chatty. 10/10

Not a massive place by any means but the variety of butterflies they have is impressive and they're well-kept.
You're kind of corralled around the tent by a small pathway of moving visitors but you can leave the tent and go back in anytime after paying (just make sure you're not taking any butterflies out with you)
I recommend visiting here and then visiting the Ditchling Museum down the road; makes for a nice day out.
