We had a lovely evening sitting outside - the beer was great & food delicious & service so welcoming! The pub looked so pretty with all the beautiful flowers - all carefully tended by Sarah! Thankyou everyone!

What a find. Hidden gem doesn't begin to describe it. Beautiful garden hidden in a fold of the South Downs. Pristine new bench tables on level paving dotted across the sloping lawn. Great beer (Langham's) and straightforward pub grub. We were treated to a family of three red kites, seeing off a buzzard directly overhead. Off the road from South Hartington to Chichester down a narrow no through road. But even better, walkable from Harting Down.

Today:
Lovely location. Good pint of Tawny.
Food disappointing. Small portion of jacket potato, small portion of filling.
Table 1. 1247 arrival.
Wish you well.
Would return for a pint.

Went for a walk on south downs way then back for lunch. Lovely food. Friendly staff. Sat in garden in October with our three setters.

For a remote pub this place is perfect if looking to have lunch and get people off their phones. No signal which means people have to talk and acknowledge. Visited here for some lunch and have to admit the food was really nice. Sitting in the beer garden it felt so peaceful and it showed how popular it is as customers arriving in droves throughout stay. Bit of a sod to find so be sure you google point it. Overall great little puv

Sunday's roast lamb was a disappointment. The lamb and the Yorkshire pudding were fine but the accompanying vegetables were poor and appeared to have been frozen.

At the end of a one track road and firmly rooted in the last century, this pub has a great garden and fantastic walking in the South Downs. Near by bluebell woods are beautiful.Parking: Good parking in the pub but otherwise very limited in the lane.
