Great customer service from a lovely assistant called Maggie. Stopped what she was doing to assist me and my daughter when we couldn't find the tights in the colour we wanted. She ordered them in and had them sent to a store nearer to us which we collected within 24hrs. Also used a 20% discount which was on my Sparks card so very happy shopper! Thank you :-)

I never normally leave a review, as I feel people love to moan, infact if anything I compliment or praise where needed. But I feel I need to say this, my friend and I went into the cafe yesterday and the Master Barista obviously got out of bed the wrong side and was very snide and rude to us, purely because we chose an unclean table and she hadn't finished cleaning it, she was very annoyed at us, and made it clear she was fed up with us, we were gobsmacked as we were nothing but polite and light hearted to her

Came here for lunch. It was very busy. Tried to get a table but was heckled by staff from across the room and told you can't have a table until you get food. If this is the case why not clearly display this on a sign? Why not have member of staff managing the queue and helping customers? I have an elderly relative who would not be able to wait in the extremely slow queue so we will no longer be able to dine here. Very unprofessional behavior from staff.

WWW (What Went Well) We were sheltered from the rain. EBI (Even Better If) They actually sold what they say they sell on the menu They didn?t expect you to pay for items that are not available Summary We have dined in M&S Cafe?s many times over the years, but the Chichester cafe (our local branch) is the worst experience of them all and we will not be wasting our time and money there again. I have noticed on the last few occasions, including this one, that they often don?t have available food that is advertised in bold letters on the menu above the tills, especially hot food. They don?t tell you this until you arrive at the front of the queue, only to be told that multiple items are not available, so you end up scratching around for a sandwich from the fridge, with other frustrated customers behind you in the queue. The chicken ciabatta was not available, so I asked for the poached egg and mashed avocado. I was informed that it wasn?t available either, so I politely enquired as to the possibility of poached egg on toast. The nice till lady went in the kitchen to ask and returned to apologetically inform me that I could have it, but only if I also paid for the non-available avocado! Yes, I know?unbelievable, as Victor Meldrew would say. At that point I grabbed a sandwich from the fridge and would have left immediately, but for the fact that it was pouring down outside.

It was a hot day and there was no air conditioning, when we asked staff why it was not on we were told if you find out then let us know. So basically the staff cannot request the air conditioning to be turned on. Totally ridiculous, a very uncomfortable experience.

Extremely rude woman working on self service checkouts. 0 customer service level. AVOID this store at all costs. I left my purchase there rather than deal with the unprofessionalism. Save yourself the headache

Not always shopping in the city centre, today I had to be there & called in to buy some flowers & veg.I went to pay on my way out & where there were tills before there are now machines.I wanted to pay with cash & had not used these selfserve machines before - by choice.I was now holding up the queue & had to look around for help. I won't be using M&S for food again, I left feeling embarrassed.

Third time in three weeks I have walked out of the coffee shop only one till open staff running in circles queue with 10 people in front and today no children?s sandwiches. Very poor for M and S. need to do better.

Friday lunchtime. Very busy. Some aisles totally blocked at badly designed pinch-points by inconsiderate shoppers causing much irritation to other customers trying to navigate round the store. Only 3 card-only tills working with a very long queue with some shoppers only discovering at the end that the cash tills were out of action. Not a positive experience.

Why have M&S stopped serving plain scones in the cafe? They serve fruit and cheese scones not helpful if you don't like fruit scones-and you just fancy jam and clotted cream
