The building and decor is dated and needs refurbishment asap. Staff were very helpful and attentive. This relates particularly to the gentleman and lady at the desk during check in on Thursday. They are an asset to the organisation and I would give them a 5*. All their effort is really let down by the facilities! Management, please sort it out asap!

It's a Travel Lodge! Rooms basic but clean with a comfortable bed. Our room looked out over the grass and trees at the back - shame about all the litter on the grass clearly hadn't been cleared for some time, same was true at the front of the hotel , so much litter. Staff were friendly and helpful.

It's a standard Travelodge with a Burger King and Starbucks next door. Very hot weather when I was there but they had kept the windows open and drawn the curtains so the room was cool. Top marks for planning. Very handy for the A23, 29 mins from BrightonUpdate 2023, stayed again, but this time was disappointed with the room. Two narrow single beds instead of a double. Comfy enough, but not what I expected.

Stayed here for 2 weeks. If I hadn?t already booked the second week I would not have returned. When you book a budget hotel you don?t expect much. You can forgive the tiny Tv and lack of amenities in the room (a mini fridge or similar would be handy for longer stays). The main rooms themselves are pretty standard for a budget hotel. Nothing to write home about but nothing terrible either. Location is not great if you want anything healthier than a burger unfortunately. The Wi-Fi is quite frankly a joke. Having paid to access it I found it almost unusable generally around 1mbps. Occasionally that crept up to about 2mbps but it was dropping out constantly meaning any kind of streaming is impossible, I was hoping to post a picture of the speeds but couldn?t even get the speed test website to load!As mentioned with a budget hotel most of these things can be forgiven. The one thing that is unforgivable in any hotel is the cleanliness. The room itself was ok (but dusty) but the bathroom was in serious need of some deep cleaning, hairs, mould and dust everywhere. You don?t get a daily visit from housekeeping which again is fair for a budget hotel, they do however give you a sign to hang on your door if you wish for your room to be freshened up. The first week I placed this out everyday and it was never done. The second week I didn?t even bother. I don?t expect a fully cleaned room everyday but a fresh coffee cup would be nice and if you?re not going to come in everyday at least give us a loo brush! I can only assume as they have robot vacuums in the hall that they have laid off all their cleaning staff.Oh and to top it all off the heating switches off when you leave the room so if you go out for the day you?ll be welcomed back to a freezing cold room!Walkability: Absolutely not. Couldn?t even do my evening run as the roads are not lit at all!Food & drinks: Poor offering in surrounding area even if you drive and the hotel itself only has a vending machine.

Outstanding service at reception, ideal location for overnight stay for ferry to Newhaven, rooms comfortable and clean but attention to detail would make them much better eg. rusting bathroom and bedroom bins cheap to replace with new and they make the room look tatty. Good stay, will visit again.

Like all Travelodges you know pretty much what to expect. The location was excellent and would definitely use it again, just 20 minutes from Gatwick. Even though it's just off the A23 it was really quiet. On site you'll find Starbucks, Burger King and at the fuel station there's Waitrose and Costa. The only downside was the bathroom which was tired and in need of upgrading, but it was clean. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

We were in a spot of bother this morning and Lori went over and above to help us. We will be eternally grateful. She was so calm, kind and helpful. Lori is an absolute credit to the company and restored my faith in human kindness. Well done Travelodge!

The Travelodge is situated behind a petrol station next to a Starbucks and Burger King. There is a Beefeater only 5 minutes drive away. Helpful reception staff and clean rooms. Overall a pleasant stay.
