Lovely pub and service was great. The food was a little disappointing though. It tasted good but the amount I got for £13.50 seemed minimal. Seven chips on the plate is not what you expect for that price. Someone within my group got the small version of the beer battered halloumi meal for £11.50 and the only difference was one less halloumi stick. I would go for drinks but if that is the benchmark for the food I don't think I'd eat there again.

Met up with some friends for lunch on Saturday and ordered the sweet chilli chicken stir-fry which sounded nice on the menu, but it was absolutely awful. The dish was drenched in what tasted like a packet sauce and it totally overpowered the food. Very disappointing and practically inedible.

Family wanted Roas dinner has we were told how lovely the food was so when we got it home the meals were stone cold and we all had to use the microwave wasn't very nice

We hold monthly book club here. The staff are welcoming and the food is great!

Great find in the middle of a housing estate. Staff were really friendly, and the service was quick. We only had drinks, but the food looked great and was reasonably priced.

Hubby says the best fish & chips he's ever had. We discovered the Suffolk game of Toad Racing (not real toads)
Vegetarian options: Vegan option: burger or aubergine tagine.
No vegan desert option.

This is probably the worst pub I ever been to, I got ask to show ID just for a pint of coke that?s just ridiculous!!!!
Then one of the staff member was thinking that my friend and I were doing something dodgy that in truth I have got him a present, I was really cross with him.
Though the staff were unfriendly, rude, useless and a not smart and finally the service was really slow (heard a couple complaining about the food and the serves I don?t blame them), I do not recommend this pub as there are better and friendlier pubs out there.

Friendly and efficient staff but food very disappointing. We had sausage and mash and onion gravy. Mash was lumpy and very thin watery gravy with not an onion in sight!

This is local to me and I think this is probably the nicest pub in Burgess Hill in terms of the environment. Full of character, has a pleasant atmosphere and a nice big garden. My one wish is that they improve the beer selection. A couple of craft beers on tap (no I don't count shipyard as a craft beer) from some of our excellent local breweries (Besten, lost pier etc) would make it 5 stars for me.

Love this place, visit from Newcastle and alway go here as much as possible when down visiting my girlfriend.
