While I normally quite like this pub, a recent experience has really disappointed me. As one of the only venues in the area that opens late, 3 of us arrived at 12.30pm, but one bouncer was extremely rude and refusing to let anyone in when it wasn't even busy. No where does it say on the venue or on the website that there is a last entry time. This created unnecessary drama, lots of frustrated customers and I'm sure considerably affected the venues revenue. The bouncer, who wasn't wearing his ID badge, used language like 'Darling' and was extremely patronising, clearly enjoying ruining everyones night using his bouncer 'power'. The other bouncer was lovely and it was clear he would've been willing to let everyone in out of the freezing cold. The rude bouncer's actions meant our friendship group and others were split up and had no where else in the area to go as an alternative, so had to wait in the freezing cold. What was even worse was that he could provide no reason as to why he would not let anyone in and then would allow clearly extremely intoxicated people who could hardly walk out of the pub to smoke and back in again. Considering we have previously been regular customers and would simply be providing the venue with additional revenue, we were treated extremely poorly.

Terrible. Ordered through just eat and have been waiting 3 hours for food to come. Still hasn?t arrived. Can?t call them it?s all automated. Never again

Fine for a pint but the food is absolutely diabolical. We ordered nachos with chicken a while back and it was a tiny, overpriced and honestly inedible. This was a few months ago and we haven?t been back since. To be honest I really wish you guys would do better as I quite like the pub. A decent selection of beers.

We popped by here to grab some food ahead of Burgess Hill?s bonfire night. When we paid for the food I thought we were getting quite a decent price but when it showed up the servings were smaller than we expected.
It was also so loud in there with football and rugby blaring at you from all directions. We thought we?d found the quietest corner but it was so loud we had to put our headphones on to drown out the noise.
Kid-friendliness: Plenty of kids there so clearly fine for kids

Good friendly and efficient pub with good food and friendly helpful staff, conveniently placed and well equipped with excellent drinks, very clean as well but far too cold and now more like a creche during the day as all pubs seem to be now

I recently visited the Block and Gasket in Burgess Hill for breakfast, and I can't recommend it highly enough. The pub has just undergone a refurbishment, and the new look is absolutely stunning. The space feels fresh and inviting, with a perfect blend of modern touches and classic pub charm. It?s clear a lot of thought has gone into the redesign, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal.
The real star of the show, though, is the breakfast. For just £6, you get an incredibly generous Full English that hits all the right notes. The bacon is crispy, the sausages are flavorful, and the eggs are cooked to perfection. Every element is prepared with care, and the quality is outstanding, especially at such a fantastic price. The portion size is just right to start your day on a high note.
The staff were also friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. If you?re in Burgess Hill, the Block and Gasket should be your go-to spot for a delicious, affordable breakfast in a beautifully refurbished setting. I?ll definitely be returning soon!

Really nice pub & restaurant to go to, easy to get there by both bus and train, friendly staff, easy to order through the app and nice food. 5 stars and 10 out of 10. Highly recommended. ??????

We did the Bottomless brunch with the drag show on the 10th August. ( opening show after the amazing new refurbishment facelift). Extremely good value for money.
Food was excellent and the cocktails were delicious
Had such a fantastic time. Miss Gender was hilarious. Great fun
