I highly recommend the services of Clayden & Co. Roger Clayden works with you to get the details displayed on a screen exactly as you require before applying to and producing the finished product. The best way (for me anyway) of ensuring a happy result.

Absolutely fuming he takes your jewellery then doesn't give it back and shuts his shop for 4 months doesn't ring you or answer his phone

Went to get 2 initials on my pendant, he stood there sending emails the whole time, took 30 min. When he done the first one it was the wrong size and looked awful. He went to do the second one and was just about to do it in the front of the first one before I stopped him. No apology, paid for the first one and told him not to bother doing the second.

Great service

My wife bought my silver necklace in for a solder repair and was instead sold a new clasp despite there being nothing wrong with the old clasp and the replacement was not a good fit , when I confronted him he said my asked for the new clasp (she didn't) and when asked for my old clasp back I was told it had been thrown away. I'm not in the jewellery business but as far as I'm concerned if you sell some one a new item you should also return the part replaced as it is the customers property. Will not be going back here and will be telling people to avoid .A five minute conversation with the owner and I'm sure you would feel the same.

Roger has repaired watches for us - the service has always been excellent and polite and he is genuinely a pleasure to deal with. The watches have come back repaired and running accurately. In addition to this, the jewellery repairs he has done, and the items we have had from the shop, have always been perfect. I have no hesitation to recommend the shop.

I have used Clayden & Co for many years, including the ordering and maintenance of my wedding ring, for which they did a terrific job. I had a rough idea of what I wanted, and what I received surpassed my expectations. Mr Clayden is a pleasure to deal with, always provides excellent service and great value for money. Highly recommended!

What dreadful service! I took a watch (worth about £800) in to be adjusted as it was loosing a bit of time. Roger Clayden asked for £150 up front and said it would be ready in 2 weeks. Cut a long story short, after repeated personal calls to Clayden's shop and numerous broken promises from Mr Clayden, I eventually had to issue County Court proceedings, and, after 2 and half months, got my watch back and a full refund. I'll leave it to you to decide whether to trust Clayden's with your valuable watch or jewelry, I know I won't be using them again. In response to Clayden's reply below I'd comment as follows :-Lies and more lies Mr Clayden! I never asked you to buy my watch, and my watch was only 4 years old, not 10!. Just dreadful customer service, delaying tactics and threatening behaviour from you. It's amazing you're still in business after you eventually had to withdraw the High Court case against your ex business partner, simply because you had no proof of the accusations you'd made against him.

The most disgraceful experience I have ever had from a shopkeeper, let alone a jeweller. Roger Clayden took my french antique clock in for repair (website valued from £700 to £1,000) on 6th March 2020. He charged me a £200 upfront payment on the basis of a 2/3 weeks repair time. I called him for a progress check after lockdown and got only evasive information. Many further calls were made with the same result. I became very suspicious about the conduct of this jeweller so I took advice from Trading Standards and from Sussex Police. I let Roger Clayden know formerly that I had done this. That?s what it took to get my clock back. It was collected on 31st July but my clock had not been repaired. This saga took 19 weeks to resolve. No apologies, no remorse or reasons were given. Collection of my clock was a silent transaction. Why did he do this? Absolutely disgraceful conduct.Mr. Clayden. This, in response to your Owners ResponseThere was more to this than Covid 19 and I could write an awful lot more about your manner and evasive responses. When you are trusted with your customers expensive and treasured possessions I expect more than repeated brush offs from my enquiries re progress. That trust was eroded to the point I was driven to contact the Police. Another two weeks? Yep, I?ve heard that from you before. Remind yourself of the Robin Walker and Mel Miller reviews below. Very similar disgraceful experiences.
