The atmosphere was very nice, our server Sam was very friendly and approachable , the food was good and came out in a reasonable time , would recommend if you were coming out with kids or friends.

Samantha- lovely greeting upon entering pub as havent been for while. Made sure we were seen and acknowledged which was nice as not all places do. Samantha very knowledgeable. Felt welcomed. Thank you

I have always walked past this place and today I thought why not try it. From the get go ordering drinks the lady at the bar was unwelcoming and looked really annoyed asked for a straw for my wife's drink just a resounding NO. Ordered the carvery and the chef bless him no problems was lovely and welcoming but the food ( maybe not his fault ) potatoes were rock solid inside and out, as well as the beef was cooked dry and the gammon had a funny taste and smell I knew from then something was wrong but continued to eat as I didn't want to waste it wrong decision my stomach is in bits now the pint of Guinness I ordered was flat not poured correctly but the lady with the glasses clearing the tables we said bye to when leaving was lovely also finished the drinks by the canal and left didn't want to raise anything there as my wife was worried as we are not locals there so we just left afterwards don't think I will return if I'm honest.

Called in for quick bite, once got app ordering and paying was not too difficult.food arrived quickly and was good portion and tasty.

Food was alright. I had a meltdown burger (a burger with a "bowl like" cutout on top bun) which sounded good but once it came It was a dilemma. I can't pick it up as I'll put my fingers in cheese, can't cut it in half as that'll make it pointless and I can't eat it with a knife and folk because I'm not a weirdo who eats a burger with knife and folk.
The carvery meat was dry, the veg (whilst tasty) was too salty.
The pint of lager was flat.
The queue at the bar was long and no one knew if they had to queue or not.

The Carvery is great, generous slices of tender meat. A great choice of vegetables all served hot. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Great pub, the food and staff are brilliant, we always get served by Sam on the bar, not sure if she is the manager, but she is so friendly and polite, we always look forward to going here for a meal and a drink.
