Above and beyond!!!Just wanted to thank Jo the manager for going above and beyond. My aunt was unexpectedly admitted on Tuesday and had no personal items with her. We live 70 miles away and couldn?t get to her that day. Rang hospital shop to see if I could pay for items over phone and have them taken to ward (aunt has Covid) told unfortunately not. However, Jo said she couldn?t see her do without and offered to pay out of her own money so my aunt didn?t go without. Toiletries were promptly delivered to a very grateful aunt. Have now reimbursed Jo but very grateful for helping us out in our hour of need. THANKYOU!

I?m a severely disabled wheelchair bound and housebound due to chronic spinal injuries with nerve damage,I was attending a very important appointment at walsalls manor hospital,as it was an early appointment and the patient transport ambulance service were early so I hadn?t had chance to eat (meaning I can?t take my medications, well not without risks) so my carer and I bought a sandwich each from the spar store inside Walsall manor hospital, for one chicken and stuffing sandwich and one all day breakfast sandwich (which for some reason had tomato sauce AND brown sauce on which are very high in fat content and preservatives yet there?s no non-sauced option and the only way I discovered this was from actually tasting it,I don?t like red or brown sauces so I had to throw my sandwich away and starved until I got home!!!) it cost £6.58!!! And this whilst our great country has suffered multiple recessions, brexit, covid, and the cost of living crisis for which were ALL still suffering the effects of,I for one have seen (in my younger healthy years) spar skips full of food waste, and prices (aka greed) are the main reason for this yet this company would rather bin foodstuffs than sell it at REASONABLE prices or help our countries most vulnerable (such as sick people who are visiting/resident in hospital for example!) and that?s one thing, but to make their customers (who incidentally are virtually forced through circumstance rather than actual choice!) pay extortionate prices for this wastage,I mean please people!?think how much these items would cost to make at home just the way you like them because only then will you see the sheer greed of this despicable company! As for me/us,we certainly WONT be purchasing from ANY spar again as the utter disgust has knocked me completely off this company, and why walsalls manor hospital permits this on their premises is beyond me! ?actually no it doesn?t because it?s clearly the highest pricing company made the highest bid for this exclusive location, although many other companies with actually reasonable prices would show ?trust we care? more than the empty logo itself and would actually help patients and visitors alike,I mean the spar are selling a Poundland teddy for £20!!!

Brought a chicken salad sandwich from here only to find mold all over the tomato & chicken, absolutely disgusting! I realised once I'd already 60% of the sandwich only because I smelt something funny when I took a bite, must have been mold spores entering my nose, vile, was given 2 quid back from the sandwich & offered another one for free, I don't think this was enough & I will be taking this further as a hospital shop should not be selling gone off food that's clearly not stored in fridges for most of its life,

Went to Spar today, Hospital security guard was sat on the tills desk, chatting to the girl.I was 3rd in queue and couple more people after me, when it was my turn to be served. No greeting and just looked at the guard rolled her eyes, and said "Omg where these people come from?"- looking at the queue.Brilliant customer service- NOT!

Most over priced shop dishonest, trusted A cash Stressed hospital earns more by charging patients and visitors over the odds on simple priced everyday goods. The reach in store ,timed what you can afford to buy store products at street prices a much needed change is need here PALS team. Surely the rip off pricing for car parking could subsidise some of these low grade food offerings you sell?
