On arrival there was a really welcoming greeting from the lady on reception, she was a delight. However, it was downhill from there after expecting something very different. The room was nice and warm, but no soap in the bathroom and the TV reception was so bad you couldn?t watch it. I asked for an iron at 18:45, which didn?t show until 23:15, when someone woke me from my sleep knocking on the door - which was a shock in itself! The lady at breakfast was helpful and efficient, but service doesn?t start until 8am, so if you?re looking for something to eat and an early dart, it isn?t possible here.

We were recommended by friends to the Sunday carvery so booked for a family gathering. We were seated in the conservatory which was cold & drafty. The wine we ordered was out of stock & they had run out of Peroni beer! Not a good start! The starters were all brought out at different times & were very average so say the least. The only meats left at the carvery were turkey & pork, they had run out of beef! Our empty plates were left for over half an hour, no desserts or tea/coffee were offered.We then left, our empty plates still on our table, while all the staff were eating their Sunday dinners! I would not recommend Calderfields golf club carvery to anyone it was a massive disappointment.

I go quite regularly for the sunday lunch but over the last few weeks the service has really dropped off. If we didn't enjoy the food as much we would find somewhere else to go. There doesn't seem to be any real coordination of servers which tables they are waiting on. We arrived when it was quite quiet and lots of staff standing around talking. Get seated and went up for the carvery, 15 minutes to get 2 drinks by which time we had nearly finished our mains. Bill came and we were charged for 4 deserts instead of 2.How is that possible? Cracking food but god the service is poor. Would give 5 stars for the food but the service really let's the place down and unfortunately this is becoming a regular occurrence.

Family Carvery trip to Calderfields. It was the first time we had visited so we had high expectations. The service throughout the meal was very good. We were seated very quickly and drinks orders taken. Starter wasn?t bad however there weren?t many prawns hiding under the huge portion of sauce on the prawn cocktail. The Carvery wasn?t bad. Great choice of vegetables and meat. However I felt the Carvery was let down a little by what looked like almost burnt roast potatoes and a one size fits all gravy. The gravy in my opinion was too strong for port and would have been way to strongly flavoured for turkey. Despite the negatives I would certainly give the Calderfields another go as the atmosphere and service were very good and maybe the potatoes were a one off.

Went here with family for afternoon tea. Beautiful location, staff very friendly and efficient. Tea was very good with an abundance of tea or coffee, of varying varieties. Lots of cakes and good variety of finger sandwiches.

I would highly recommend Calderfields to celebrate your special occasions. Today we celebrated a friends baby shower and the event organisers were very welcoming. Dave, Adam, Becca and Acacia thankyou so much! From start to finish you couldn't have done anymore for us. The food was delicious and great value for money and the room was beautifully decorated. All in all, a brilliant venue, most wonderful and friendly staff and Emma was delighted. Thankyou

Drove into this venue to play golf, and the car park completely covered in mud, rubble and debris! Covered my car in absolute filth and dirt! Wouldn't recommend this place as the driving into the place is absolutely disgusting! Didn't even bother with the golf as soon as I got out my car and seen the mud all over it really annoyed me! AVOID AVOID AVOID!

I'll start of by saying, this was my go to place for a carvery, better than anywhere ive been, and ive been to a few. We came for lunch today and i must admit i was disappointed. The once beautiful carvery looked like it had been sitting there a while. The meat was dry and not the best, the veg wasnt much better. The roast potatoes, which i do like well done, were burnt to within an inch of there lives. To top it of i found it had gone up in price over a quid. I understand things go up in price, but come on calderfields your better than that, my once favourite carvery venue just aint what it used to be sadly. I dont mind the extra cost if the quality of the once beautiful food was up to there normally 5 star standard. Looks like finding another venue for Sunday lunch in the future. Sorry guys but just not what it used to be.??

Visited Calderfields for a lunch catch-up with friends. Lovely relaxed atmosphere in the small dining room, where we were served by Becky. She was a friendly, helpful and attentive member of staff, who went that extra mile to answer our questions - thank you Becky. The food was freshly cooked and nicely presented. We will certainly return.

Brilliant evening at The Best of Walsall Business Networking event recently held at Calderfields. A wonderful evening enjoyed by all. I would like to thank the whole Calderfields team for dealing with my peanut allergy and taking it seriously, while still being able to cater for me. The carvery meal was delicious with plenty of choices and the separate nut-free dessert prepared was lovely. Unfortunately, it is rare that places take allergies seriously or bother to cater for allergy needs so this is something I really appreciated. Other venues and restaurants should follow Calderfields in this way. Please pass my comments on to the team and the chef. Very impressed and I am sure other people with allergys would not have a problem at Calderfields.

Visited today for a family members 80th birthday, we all had 3 courses which all were delicious, the carvery was very good with excellent meat & lots of vegetables for choice & all were piping hot, big thanks to our waitress Bekki ( I believe was her first day ) was excellent, very attentive & nothing too much trouble.

We go to Calderfields for a carvery on a regular basis. It?s always busy so I would recommend booking. The staff are very friendly and the location is lovely overlooking the Golf Course. The food is excellent with a great selection of Meat and vegetables. Everything is piping hot. If you can manage starters and dessert they have a really good selection and it?s all very reasonably priced.

Hi Shannon and all team at Calderfields I would just like to say a huge thanks to you all at Calderfields for making my surprise party as part of the night.....I was truly shocked at how John and others had arranged it and kept it a secret . Thanks to the club for our complimentary bottles of wine ..it was a lovely gesture . Everyone had such a fantastic time and many laughs Cannot fault the event at all .... congratulations to you and the wonderful team every event we have been to at Calderfields has been magnificent in every way All the staff from waiters bar staff to management are so friendly and make Calderfields such a fabulous place to celebrate any occasion Many thanks Michelle Burnett
