Would rate 0 stars but not an option, Manager Andy is extremely rude and unhelpful. Strongly suggest you do not make a purchase from here.

I visited argos walsall to collect an eBay parcel last week, the lady checked the name and handed the parcel to me without performing any checks (barcode, ref numbers etc). Today I went to collect another parcel and because I didnt get asked for a barcode last time, I did not assume I needed one.
The guy who i assume was the manager was like a bouncer, keeping me from my parcel. I had multiple forms of photo ID, but they were holding my parcel hostage without the barcode that I didnt need last week.
Make your minds up, one rule one day, a different the next.

Walsall Wharf Argos - absolutely disgusting customer service. I was trying to return a children?s toy that hasn?t worked properly since I bought it less than a week ago. Went in store today and they ?tested? it. A few of the gel balls (it was a gel blaster) spluttered out of the gun and this was their way of ?testing it?. I asked to speak to the manager ?Andy? - he was passive aggressive (in my opinion) and started talking about IPhone fraud. Not sure why he was telling me about this - I was returning a £35 children?s toy and asking for a refund or replacement. He told me to contact online customer services knowing full well they do not deal with store complaints (I told him as much). Thankfully, I have a contact from Sainsburys senior management and they are going to deal with this. Buy off Amazon and forget high street dinosaurs like Argos. Hopefully Andy and his colleagues will receive some well needed training.

I brought a tv from argos and picked it up straight away. After getting home and unpacking the tv I turned it on and noticed the tv was cracked i went back the next day as the store was closed. I approached the staff at the desk and explained my issue so the tv went back behind the counter for inspection. The manager came over to me to tell me she can't offer me a refund or replacement or repair. She interrogated me asking how I took it out the box and how my fingers was placed when do it she implied that I broken the tv and they won't do anything about it. The Next day I spoke to citizens advice they told me it's my consumers right act 2015 they should do something or at least offer to repair so I went back. I spoken to same manager a blond lady with a attitude telling me she already explained to me they won't be doing anything even after I mentioned my consumers right act 2015 but she just walked away from me which was very unprofessional!!!
Just an update been backwards and forwards with samsung and argos and finally argos going to give me a full refund no thanks to argos walsall

Good Argos shop, good workers

The service provided was subpar, and the customer service was lacking in its attention to customer satisfaction.
The individual I spoke with on the phone was discourteous, and the in-store experience was equally disappointing, as the staff displayed a general disregard for customer concerns.
This decline in service quality is a contributing factor to Argos's diminished reputation. I strongly advise against conducting business at this establishment.

The culture at this store seems to be one of condescending dismissal.
I bought a iPad pen alongside a iPad. When it was not compatible I went to return.
Manager Andrew basically told me due to a sticker being missing off the box I could not refund or exchange.
It appears that the managers at this store are pretty sure they can speak to customers how they wish without being worried about accountability for their actions.
There is a reason why online retailers have taken companies like Argos down a peg or two. Consumers abandon high streets because of this type of quibble.
I tried to use a store again after a long time, back to Amazon in future I'm afraid.

Collected an order today which was a fairly smooth and easy experience regardless of the person serving me lacking basic manners. However, my reason for this review is to high light the importance of being aware of your surroundings when discussing sensitive topics. I believe the manager whose name was along the lines of ?Mankheesh?? Apologies if this is incorrect I tried to take a glance whilst I was leaving the store, was having a conversation with a fellow worker stating ?there is a man, and there is a woman, and that is that, and if you are born that way, you stay that way? as someone who has a sister in the LGBTQ+ community, I found this deeply disappointing and unsettling that these opinions were being spouted at the front of the desk/till for everyone to hear. I only imagine if my sister was there with me and how uncomfortable she would have felt. Do better. Also! Notice how Argos have a pride flag in their logo? :) try and match your stores inclusivity policies next time.

What a great attitude from all the people we spoke to even the female staff member that served us helped me carry a 58 inch tv to my car instead of my wife

I buy from Argos regularly and have done for 20+ years. The most recent time I purchased a clothes airer, took it home, opening it as carefully as possible. Unfortunately it was very flimsy and wouldn't hold a pair of jeans. I ordered an alternative, repackaged the old one and took it back to return as I collected the new one. I was met by Lou who had zero customer service skills. She told me it wasn't in its original packaging (it actually was) nor in a resaleable condition. I told her it wasn't fit for purpose, as I expect it to be able to at least hang 1 load on it. The manager Amy then said its not 'try before you buy', both of them were extremely dismissive, borderline rude. I understand its not 'try before you buy' however with the Argos model you are unable to see the products' durability prior to buying. I was left with a flimsy airer thats of no use. I'd much rather use a different branch, where you dint have to pay for parking.
