Love this place, the food was lovely and the staff were really nice and service was excellent. I would definitely recommend a visit.

There were 12 of us having a Christmas meal and drink. The food and service was fantastic and very good value. Will definitely go again.

Went for lunch as our usual venue, the Hardwick, was full. Unfortunately on a cold day, the place was freezing. Everyone in there sat with coats and scarves. Only 1 fire on but the few tables around it were booked. People near bye complained about the cold and bar staff said they would turn up heating, but still no radiators came on. Never had to sit before in an ember inn shivering. Food was very average. Will not be going back.

Received a good welcome from the bar man when we walked in. He was pleasant and engaged with my young son regarding what drink he wanted. If only the food was even half as good as the service. I?m sorry to say the dual Sunday dinner (two meats) was probably the worst Sunday dinner I?ve ever had. No one followed up to check this bland, uninspiring dinner was any good which was the only poor bit of service I had here.

5 star service with perfectly cooked food. Fresh ales on draught and the fires make for a warm environment. Will return again soon.

Haven?t been back here for well over a year due to the poor food and service As it?s our local decided to try steak night. He had 2 rib-eyes which were pretty well cooked. Rest of meal good apart from peas which were cooked to death sadly. Staff friendly and not just hanging around which also an improvement to last time. Good to see our local is providing decent food again ??. ?

My family and I went wedding dress shopping yesterday and decided to go for lunch in the crown. The woman behind the bar was as miserable as sin, no hello or a smile. I asked were the toilet was, she didn't look at me, she just pointed to them. Awful customer service. The lady who brought the food was really pleasant. However the food was disgusting, it's certainly was not freshly cooked,both the fish fingers and battered chicken were hard and dry. At no point did any come to the table to if everything was OK and when the miserable barmaid collected the plates she didn't say a word. This is such a shame because it's a very nice pub. But I don't think I will go back any time soon.
