“Always friendly staff, quick and efficient at serving you. If you can't find a book they take you right to it. If you want a recommendation they always have one at hand. I always order my books from there and always receive a text to say it's in as soon as it is in. Fantastic place, fantastic staff who are extremely knowledgeable in authors and genres and very happy to help”

“They have a huge selection of books, great value and well set out so you can find what you need. Cheaper than anywhere else on the high street. There are lots of crafting items for new hobbies on the right as you go in, there's nice stationary, art supplies, kiddies chunky books, true crime books, small cute boxes to organise things, diaries and toys.Love having a mooch in here. Staff are always very approachable and helpful too. I use a power wheel chair ♿ and I can manoeuvre around easily ? 5*”

“I had an appointment at the hospital. Wh smiths is only very small as its inside the hospital, great for a paper and coffee. Not so good if you want to buy magazines if your visiting. It used to carry loads of mags, word search books and puzzle books, just seems like the odd few papers now. It's more into coffee, drinks and cakes. The lady on the counter was on her own, rushed off her feet she was so nice to everyone. A real credit. Why is this world hell bent on stretching It's resources, no staff, working alone, employers don't give a dam. Just rubbish. I felt so sorry for the girl. Thank you to her, well done lovely.”

“One of the longer established charity shops in Sutton Coldfield, this Oxfam has stood on the corner of Holland Street and Birmingham Road for around about twelve years. The interior layout is often moved around which stops the shop from ever becoming too tired. When it first started this was a great place to pick up rare vinyl at a decent price, nowadays it stocks very few records and less CDs than it used to, but it has yet to go the way of stocking hundreds of damp-damaged Ray Conniff LPs so there's an element of quality over quantity at work. There is always a very good and broad selection of books in this particular Oxfam, always reasonably priced and more than always in good condition. In recent times, the shop has moved more and more into the area of selling its own ethical products (a woman in there the other day was asking if they still had any toilet cleaner in stock), which is undoubtedly great for some but to a nifty thrifter in search of valuable cast-offs, it appeals very little. With the charity shop sector growing to the point of saturation, perhaps it's a necessary evil to keep these very useful shops going.”

“Fabulous experience and excellent customer service at this store today. Chris really helped make my teenaged autistic son feel happy, comfortable and valued. He was patient and kind and really made his day. Thank you Chris!”
